Meet the bloke behind Luxe Bathroom studio
Approaching 40, and this is my best mate Duke. We’ve been together for 11 years — and he’s been around for pretty much every chapter of my business journey.
I’ve been in the construction industry for 20 years, starting out as a gas and heating engineer. I’ve worked all over the place, including spending time working in Australia and Canada, before eventually coming home and setting up my own business in 2015.
Duke was there from the beginning.
Over the years, the business evolved. What started with heating and plumbing gradually turned into something that probably suits me far better — bathrooms, design and creating spaces.
I’ve always had a creative side. I love materials, colours, textures, lighting and the challenge of taking someone’s ideas and turning them into something that actually works. That’s a big part of why Luxe Bathroom Studio came about.
Today, alongside running the showroom, I’m still involved in the construction industry and also spend part of my time developing property. So I get to see projects from pretty much every angle — from the first pipe being installed to choosing the final tile, brassware and lighting.
Away from work, I’m a husband, a dad to Lila and Kasper, and generally trying to keep up with family life, work, property projects and, occasionally, finding time for a round of golf. 😂
Twenty years in the trade has taught me a lot — but one thing I still genuinely enjoy is creating something from nothing.
That’s what I love about bathrooms.
It’s not just about fitting a toilet, basin and shower.
It’s about taking a blank room and turning it into somewhere you actually want to be.
And after 20 years, I’m still obsessed with getting the details right.
