Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh Pt.2

As the main contractor, we were responsible for setworks and installation throughout the newly updated Physicians’ Gallery at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.

Working closely with graphic, display case and mount specialists, we ensured every element came together seamlessly — from large-scale interpretation panels to finely detailed object displays. The result is a refreshed exhibition that blends storytelling, design and craftsmanship, giving visitors a rich insight into centuries of medical history.

We’re incredibly proud to have played a central role in delivering this transformation.

V&A Dundee - Garden Futures Pt.5

The final zone brings the exhibition to a close by looking ahead — exploring how gardens can inspire new ways of living and working together. With bright colours, interactive displays, and large-scale installations, visitors are invited to reflect on what gardens mean today and imagine how they might shape the future.

At the heart of the space, a timber-framed greenhouse structure creates a sense of openness and possibility. It frames a vibrant mix of objects, artworks, and interactive elements, coming together to form a space that is both playful and thought-provoking.

Garden Futures: Designing with Nature runs at V&A Dundee until 25 January 2026 — make sure to catch it before it closes.

V&A Dundee - Garden Futures Pt.4

Zone 4 is bathed in yellow — a colour that can symbolise optimism and hope, sparking creativity and imagination, but also hinting at fragility and the fleeting nature of things.

This space is presented as a testing ground for new ideas, where the garden becomes a place to dream of and work towards a better future. In the face of climate crisis, globalisation and food insecurity, the garden once again emerges as a laboratory — a site of experimentation with sustainability and social justice, and ultimately, a place of hope and possibility.

The bold yellow walls and partitions in this zone were built by our joinery team, their smooth finish and precision creating the clean geometry that frames each display. These strong joinery structures don’t just divide the space — they also serve as canvases for projections, graphic panels, and mounted works, forming the backbone of the exhibition’s immersive storytelling.

V&A Dundee - Garden Futures Pt.3

This zone explores the politics of gardens, set against deep, earthy green tones. It reveals how every garden carries traces of history — shaped by social change, political and commercial forces, and cultural values. Many of the plants found in Western gardens today also carry connections to colonial histories.

The design reflects these layered stories: geometric cut-outs in the timber walls echo the shapes of hedges, offering views into other parts of the exhibition. In the seating area, the walls are lined with photographs that map landscapes and plants, uncovering their wider global narratives.

V&A Dundee - Garden Futures Pt.2

The exhibition is divided into colour-rich zones, each one exploring a different perspective on gardens — from sustainability, politics, community and what it means for both garden lovers and non-gardeners.

This zone explores the garden as paradise — a sanctuary, a place of refuge, and a mirror of personal identities, dreams and visions. Our joinery team crafted the walls and object frames, shaping vibrant structures that lead visitors on a journey through the space. The outer walls evoke the feel of a glasshouse, with soft light filtering through to surround the artworks and objects in a bright, immersive glow.

V&A Dundee - Garden Futures

Garden Futures: Designing with Nature opened at V&A Dundee in May 2025 and runs until 25 January 2026. The exhibition looks at the role of gardens in everyday life, from kitchen plots and allotments to their influence on art, design and videogames.

We’re proud to have delivered the fit-out for this UK-exclusive show. Our team, alongside skilled sub-contractors, brought the vision to life with craft, detail and care.

The images capture the exhibition entrance — a bold, colourful display of garden tools and furniture that sets the scene for the stories inside.
