What a barrel of fun this one was. Initially, thinking the rip out would be a breeze soon turned into a head ache.

After taking up the LVT and underlay, i soon discovered quite a large area that had water damage. Unfortunately, the floor was floating, the first layer was insulation, and then a double layer of 12mm backerboard, which meant twice as much work for me....

Oh, and did I mention this job was in a flat on the second floor 😁.

Once the floor was up, we could start the process of priming and then installing our insulation boards ready for the decoupling membrane, which would carry the heating cable.

Once the cable was fitted, we could then level over the entire area, ready for some tiling.

The customer chose the tile, a 600x600 high gloss porcelain tile.

I was happy to see the finisb of this one, but the excitement was short-lived as the customer has now booked us in for the bedroom floor 🀣πŸ₯³. At least that will be for next year.

These 1200x600 tiles definitely speak for them self's! 😍

I loved working in this one and will hopefully be able to pop back and get some photos once all the furniture has been installed.

If you follow my stories, you will have seen i completed this one over the weekend. And let me tell you, it felt like a very LONG weekend.

45mΒ² of 1.2x600

1st day prep and self levelling
2nd day, 80% of the tiling completed
3rd day, last bit of tiling completed, then grouted, washed, and siliconed up.

It felt so good to get in bed Sunday night knowing I was up again in the morning.πŸ˜†

Something a little different.

I thought to my self yeah I can get this room done in 3 days, I did, but they were some long days.

I forgot just how long small format tiles take after working with large format for a while.

What do you think? It's not to everyone's taste i imagine, but I think it's abit of alright.

Half day grouting and finishing up.

They don't all go aswell so do t expect your bathroom to be tiled in a day and a half πŸ˜†.

I'll have to admit, I did messed up the measurements on this one, and the customer got 5mΒ² off of the price πŸ˜†.

I must of been distracted doing the maths. But that's life!
