Last weeks job, new gas pipework installed at Rocols manufacturing site just up the road from us Swillington.

We changed a 60m section of pipe from a local butterfly valve on the shop floor which fed the plant room and a lever valve to the main offices.

J&C Pipework Limited re routed the new line over a few days, got it prepared ready for the final connection and decommission of the existing pipe. This way there was minimal disruption by not having to turn the gas off until the final day.

On the final day we came in, decommissioned the old pipe work with nitrogen, strength tested the new line with air, purged gas through with our GEA purge kit and finally tightness tested. All appliances re lit and everything back up and running.

DE-COMMISSION, PURGE, TEST & RE-COMMISSION.

Last weeks job at Holy Trinity church in Huddersfield. We De commissioned the existing gas pipe so a section of corroding pipe could be cut out, renewed and welded in place. We did by purging it out with nitrogen and using our purge kit.

After the pipe was welded and cooled down we purged the line with gas and re commissioned the gas. Commissioned the boiler and turned everything back on

New under sink water heater fit this week for our customer in Leeds City Centre on The Headrow.

After complications with their existing gas boiler, the gas meter and gas pipe been undersized for the building they opted to have electric wall heaters and this water fit.

Last weeks install in South Leeds taking out an open glued gravity Ideal concord with an asbestos flue, which we had professionally removed and despised of and replaced with a new Ideal Logic max combi

A lot of work in the loft in last weeks heat included a new gas run from the meter, vertical flue and the waste pipe for the condensate pump which terminated out side into the soil stack and using condensate pro for the insulation

All new TRVs and lock shield valves fit to each radiator, a new wireless stat, flushing of the system and a happy customer

🚨 A LUCKY ESCAPE 🚨

I received a phone call from a landlord explaining that his rental properties flue for the boiler had come apart and the gas had been capped by the Northern gas network, he then sent through some photos of the situation.

I attended today with a new flue and left still non the wiser to how all this happened.

The boiler is installed in a children’s bedroom cupboard, luckily they had a carbon monoxide alarm fit, which activated alarming the tenant, who then turned the boiler off and phoned the emergency number.

New flue fit, flue terminal guard fit, gas uncapped and tested boiler re commissioned. Re pipes the condensate too as that was just terminating to the floor.

This situation could of been fatal, the carbon monoxide alarm sounding has possibly saved someone’s life.

This isn’t an everyday occurrence, it’s been a good few years since I’ve attended something like this, but for the sake of a £15/£20 CO alarm it’s well worth getting one if you already haven’t.

Full central heating installation completed a couple of weeks ago for our customer in East Leeds. Ideal Logic Max combi installed in the loft and 6 radiators fit through out the house. 🦉 🔥

New Vaillant Ecofit Pure 825 fit and relocated from the kitchen cupboard to the second bedroom in this downstairs flat for our customer in North Leeds this week. Plus 4 radiators replaced with one been relocated. New gas run on the external wall. Boiler temporary wired up on a plug ready for the electrician to put on a fuse spur 🦉🔥
