We have been lucky enough to work on many new build homes over the years, but this new build home in Leeds is certainly one of the highlights.

Built on a filled-in railway embankment, the project required piled foundations to provide the stability needed for the site conditions. From the outset, it was a build that demanded careful planning, technical understanding and attention to detail.

The exterior combines natural stone walls, a slate roof and aluminium windows, creating a timeless but modern home. A bespoke oak truss detail, crafted on site, adds character to the upper-floor balcony and gives the home a distinctive feature.

Internally, the property had high end finishes throughout. We installed tiled floors, a fitted kitchen and bathrooms, and all decorative finishes, resulting in a well-appointed, carefully constructed home.

Our team at Inspired Builds is built on years of experience.

Grove Villas is a great example of the kind of thoughtful, high-quality work we have been delivering for years.

Completed in 2015, the project involved the careful conversion of a former office building into 16 apartments, ranging from one to three bedrooms.

Set within a conservation area, the building required a sensitive approach, balancing the character of the existing architecture with the practical needs of modern residential living. It was a challenging, but very rewarding project.

Original timber windows were renovated, the feature staircase at the heart of the building was carefully restored, and the external areas were fully landscaped to enhance the setting and provide outdoor amenity space for residents.

Nearly a decade on, Grove Villas remains a strong example of how experience, craftsmanship and attention to detail can bring new life to existing buildings.

Since our last visit, the new rear and side extension has been built on our remodel, retrofit and extension project on a home in North Leeds.

The roof is now being fitted on the extension, and inside the new floor to the extension is being prepared ready for the concrete pour, which will be a big step in finalising the build, which is already complete on the upper floors.

A really exciting point in the project and with progress on all fronts, this is another site that will look vastly different by the time we’re back in a few weeks.

In this weeks site update, there’s been some major progress on the roof at an incredible project of ours on a home in North Leeds.

The new roof is nearly ready for tiling, the dormer is up, and the conservation solar panels are in place ready to sit neatly within the new slate tiling.

Inside, the roof has been insulated, the basement has been fully dug out and the new concrete floor poured, and on the upper floors the new subfloors are going down with insulation being laid throughout.

This project really will be incredible once complete. A modern home in a traditional exterior, and we look forward to the next video update in a few weeks time.

In this month’s site update, the new stonework at our Harrogate dental surgery project is nearly complete, and it’s looking excellent - if we say so ourselves.

Preparations are now underway for the new staircase entrance from ground floor level, which will lead up into the new reception area. It’s a really important stage in the build, and it is becoming clear how this extension will change the overall layout and function of the clinic.

Another one that’s moving quickly now, and by our next update video it should look completely different again.

We’re now into the final stretch of this full home transformation. With the majority of the internal works on the upper floors now complete, the extension is now fully underway and making a real impact.

The steelwork is all installed, blockwork is nearly complete, and the build is almost ready for the roof structure to begin.

Once finished, this extension will completely open up the ground floor layout and act as the final piece of the puzzle in what has been a major renovation and upgrade of the home.

With the scaffolding now down, the new roof and full-width dormer have already transformed the appearance of the property.

The extension will be the finishing touch, tying the whole project together and creating a home that feels completely reimagined for modern family living.

Momentum is building on our conservation area renovation in North Leeds. The property has been fully stripped back, with the windows removed ready for their triple glazed replacements, and now works to the basement are underway as this major transformation continues to take shape.

This is a substantial reconfiguration and sustainable upgrade, bringing together heritage sensitivity with modern performance. The scope includes:

We are making excellent progress on our site at Chatsworth House Dental Clinic in Harrogate.

The rear extension is now up to first floor level, forming what will become the clinic’s new reception area and making a real impact on the overall shape of the building.

The beginnings of the new stonework is also taking shape, and looking incredible in the first proper sun of the year. In the basement, the spaces for the new surgeries are also progressing well.

Once complete, this project will include:
✅ A two-storey extension to the rear
✅ A new entrance with steps from the rear/side elevation
✅ A plant room for dental equipment
✅ Two new surgeries
✅ The front elevation retained as existing

It’s great to see the structure taking shape, and we look forward to providing more updates as work continues on site.

Considerable progress has been made on a conservation area project of ours in North Leeds, where the property has been completely stripped back, marking the start of what will be a major renovation, reconfiguration and sustainable upgrade. The rear roof has now been carefully removed to make way for the new dormer extension, a significant moment in what is set to be a transformative build.

Set within a conservation area, this is a huge and exciting project that demands both sensitivity and technical rigour. Once complete, it will be an incredible home that blends heritage character with high-performance design.

We’re now nearing completion on this full home transformation, with the upper floors in the final stages of decoration and second fixing. It’s great to see the spaces coming together after months of roof and structural work, alongside some careful coordination on site.

Downstairs, major works are well underway on the new extension. Following some weather-related delays, the footings are now in and the extension is starting to come out of the ground. The scale of the new open-plan space is already becoming clear.

With the scaffolding down, the new roof and full-width dormer have been revealed, completely changing the appearance of the property. Once finished, the house will be unrecognisable from where it started, with significantly improved comfort, reduced energy use and a layout designed around modern family living.
