Please don't risk it 🪜

Every year people are seriously injured falling from ladders doing jobs around the house. It looks straightforward from the ground — then you're up there, stretching that bit further than you should to reach the last section, with a bucket in one hand.

Here's the good news: most of the time, nobody needs to go up at all. Our gutter vacuum clears the whole run from ground level, so there's no ladder anywhere near your house.

Once a year, sorted 📅

Our advice is simple: get your gutters cleaned once a year and you'll stay on top of them.

That's usually enough to stop moss, leaves and grit building up to the point where they cause real trouble — and it means any loose brackets or dodgy joints get spotted early, while they're still a cheap fix rather than an expensive one. 🔧

Leave it two or three years and it's a different job altogether. The debris sets solid, the downpipes clog, and by then the damage is often already done to your walls and fascias. 😬

Little and often really does win with gutters. 👍

5 signs your gutters need clearing

Not sure whether yours need doing? Have a look for these signs:

1. Water spilling over the edge when it rains, instead of running to the downpipes
2. Plants or grass actually growing out of the gutter
3. Green or dark staining running down the wall below
4. Damp patches appearing inside the house
5. The gutter looking like it's sagging or pulling away from the fascia�
Spotted any of those? Best to get it looked at sooner rather than later — a blocked gutter only ever gets worse, and the repair bill is a lot bigger than the clean.

A bit of dry weather is the best time to get your gutters sorted.

Right now your gutters might look fine — but there's usually a nice thick layer of moss, leaves and grit sitting in there quietly building up. You won't notice a thing until the first proper downpour, and by then you've got water pouring down the wall.
