💡 TODAYS TOP TIP ⚡️ (and another use for Frog Tape 🐸!)

Repetitive surfaces? If you’re sanding lots of surfaces and losing track of what you’ve sanded with which grit and how many times…. Here’s a little hack I use 💡

✅ Tear small pieces of frog tape and stick a piece to every surface, raised detail, corner or edge that needs sanding. As you sand that surface remove the tape! Simples - now you know exactly what needs doing and what’s been done ✅

P.S, this also works for surfaces you’re applying a clear varnish to and it might not be easy to see which parts you’ve done (or re-done) when applying multiple coats 🧥 😀

How I turned glossy silver leaf into rich ‘mahogany wood’ 🪵 👀

I’ve NEVER had to ‘trust the process’ as much as I did with this project!!! 😮‍💨 SOOOO MANY times I looked at it and thought ‘what the hell have a done?!?’ 🤯

I tried to document as much as possible but it’s impossible to squeeze it all into a reel so shout if you have any questions on any of the steps 🙋🏼‍♀️ and I’ll try to answer them!

Anyhooo, here’s my interpretation of a faux mahogany look. I’m glad I stuck with the process - even if I didn’t trust it an awful lot 😂) , and so is my client, she loves her ‘new’ console table! 💞

👋🏼 Workshops at Headley Village Hall 👩‍🎨

Take a look at the lively country venue I’ll be hosting my upcoming workshops from!
📍 Situated between Ashtead, Leatherhead and Epsom this quaint little village has a hidden gem - a recently renovated historic village hall - and that’s where we’ll get creative if you sign up for one of my workshops.

WHAT’S ON?

🗓️ Oct 22nd 6-8pm - The Painted Piece: 🥂 A creative evening where I supply a little wooden item, paints, decorative supplies, a glass of Prosecco and some nibbles, then you can just relax and metal the creative juices flow paint your own piece!

🗓️ Nov 7th: 19-4pm - Furniture Upcycling Workshop: 🎨 For beginners and intermediate upcyclers. Bring a small wooden piece of furniture and I’ll guide you through all the steps needed to create your own refinished item. We’ll learn, trouble shoot, and get our hands dirty in the best possible way!

🗓️ Dec 3rd: 6-8pm - The Painted Piece - 🧑🏻‍🎄 Christmas edition! Just like the regular painted piece, but make it festive!

Only TWO weeks to go until our Painted Piece Creative Evening! 🎨 🥂 There’s still time to book so if you’re craving a couple of hours just for you without any demands or to-do lists, then grab your bestie, your mum your daughter or just come solo!
We’ll be painting little wooden items such as coasters and trinket boxes while sipping of a little bubbly (alcohol free available too!).

You don’t need to be creative, just come as you are and clear your busy headspace 😌

I provide everything and you leave feeling proud of your little creation….. and with your cup that big filler.
