The ford custom gates can now be posted or collected from the yard and takes around 45 minutes per gate to install.

He chose a bi-folding security gate for the passenger side, perfect for accessing your tools in confined spaces.

The Van Shield Gate for the driver and rear side. It already has the Van Guardian alarm system on all 3 doors of the van.

As soon as the van doors are touched, the alarms provide a pre-warning, then go off fully if touched again.

It was a strange request from a customer, something I do not normally do. This Ford Connect LWB is a five-seater,

but with the lift of a handle, the seats can be pushed against the driver/passenger seat, giving you more space in the loading bay.

There is no way to secure the back through the sides, as the handle is easily accessible and it takes seconds to fold the seats.

This is what happened to this customer three weeks ago; they lost over £12,000 in survey equipment in seconds and are now fighting with the insurance company to cover the equipment.

I have been tasked to fit a rear security gate and manufacture a special bulkhead.

Securing this Ford Custom high top.

The customer traveled all the way from South Wales.

He chose the bi-folding security gates on the side and rear with two motion sensor alarms.

We have recently improved the side gate, allowing us to bring the side gates even closer to the van doors and saving an extra 45mm, which provides more space.

It is a lot easier to gain access to your tools in confined spaces.

The rear security is another bi-fold; even if one van door is blocked off, you can still gain access, and you can also fold the gates around the van to maximize clearance if needed.

The best part of the gates and alarms is that they can be removed, unlike security that is permanently installed on the van doors.

This customer had an attempted break-in last Monday, 14th October, in the Coventry area.

I installed these gates 3 years ago and already paid for themselves 4 times over

I was waiting for CCTV footage from the customer, but the shop owner wouldn't let him have it.

They didn't get in! I install 3-star Diamond anti-snap euro cylinders in my security gates to slow down or prevent entry like this.

The same company that tested my security gates, Sold Secure Ltd, has done the same testing for these euro cylinders and awarded them Diamond status as well.

I have never seen this style of attempt before; normally, they use a crowbar./grinder in one other occasion.

With hook locks, they normally snap the barrel or just crowbar into the gap between the side door and the panel.

And guess what? They didn't cut a hole in the roof or steal the van!

Like I keep saying to tradies, it's not if, but when. He had over £3,000 worth of tools and would have lost around £1,500 in work

, not to mention his van and tool insurance premiums rising for the next five years, even if the insurance pays out, plus the hassle of getting crime reference numbers.

Securing this VW Transporter for the customer.

He had his tools stolen twice previously, as you can see by the carnage caused by the thieves
Since the previous security installed had failed, he wanted something different.

It was a difficult installation due to his false floor running throughout the van, so I had to fabricate a unique set of security gates for this owner.

For the rear, the security gate framework would have obstructed the rear lock boxes, so I made an upward-inward bi-folding gate for the rear, keeping both the lock boxes and the van secure. You can also leave bottom half in the up position and still lock the gates if working around or near the van.

The side door had the same framework issue, so I was able to install the gate on top of the false floor.

I installed motion sensor alarms for the side and rear; as soon as the van doors open, the alarms trigger.

Unlike hook and slam locks and plates, which cannot be removed, my security gates and alarms can, saving you time and money. Let's keep your van secure and your tools safe today.

Also have an additional immobiliser amd hidden dead switch

The side gate features a bi-folding design with additional hinges and a lock, as this is the most common point of entry for any van.

I store all my gloves, personal protective equipment, blue roll, wet wipes, impact gun, and drill in this area. My Packout box contains all the bolts and rivets required for gate installations.

The rear gate is a standard Van Shield Gate, which allows me to protect the back of the van by reversing up against a wall.

I keep four additional M18/M12 batteries, along with spare hinges, locks, cylinders, bolts, nuts, rivets, alarms, and drilling equipment.

I no longer need to enter the interior of my van to retrieve my tools, which has made my workflow significantly quicker and more efficient.

Additionally, I am currently testing new motion alarms with battery packs that are designed to last for eight to ten months before requiring a recharge.

These systems are not only intended for tool security; they also make my daily tasks much easier and can be adapted based on the specific requirements of each job.

Furthermore, I have the flexibility to remove this entire setup and reinstall it into my next vehicle if necessary.

These gates can now be collected or posted for self-installation and take around 1.5 hours to install.

As he had a false floor in the back, the framework would be in the way of the full-size security gate.

After a few back and forths with the customer regarding design and measurements, he chose the security gate on top of the false floor with my award-winning Van Shield Gate, as he will be turning the gates with a Milwaukee Packout for storage.

For the side door, he adopted my bi-folding security gate as he works in confined spaces.

He also has two motion sensor alarms; as soon as the van doors open, the alarms trigger, and almost all the time, the thieves move on to an easier target.
