Gardens by Rachel Garden design, planting and garden maintenance. Leamington Spa, Warwick and Kenilworth. Hi! My name is Rachel and gardens are my passion.

I love bright and happy colours in the garden, growing plants and flowers for everyone's enjoyment and making the most of outdoor spaces. My family and I have an allotment where we grow and experiment with our own fruit, veg and flowers. We grow only organically using no chemicals, feed or sprays and have succeeded with the no dig method. We have a small but beautiful town garden at home full of c

olour. I want to help others in my local area achieve the same benefits and enjoyment from their gardens too! Contact me for gardening advice and services:

🌿 Growing gardens, growing communities 🌿

At Gardens by Rachel, we believe gardening is about much more than creating beautiful outdoor spaces — it can also bring people together, support wellbeing and make a positive difference within our local community.

We’re proud to support The Social Gardening Project through volunteering, local planting projects and contributions including plants, compost, garden design and practical help.

Small acts can create something wonderful when a community comes together. 💚

Would you like to get involved or support their work? Visit The Social Gardening Project’s website to find out more about joining, volunteering or help.

🌿 June–July garden reminder 🌿

With warmer weather and plenty of growth, as you can see - now is a good time to keep on top of a few simple garden jobs:

💧 Water deeply in the early morning or evening 2-3 times a week for new plantings and more often for pots. You shouldn’t need to water established plants but do observe them.
Speak to us about water butts if you don’t have one already!
🌸 Deadhead flowers to encourage more blooms
🌱 Keep annual weeds under control before they set seed and make an effort to dig out perennial roots.
✂️ Trim back tired herbaceous perennials or anything that has sprawled where you don’t want it
🪴 Check pots and containers regularly, as they dry out quickly

A little regular care now will help keep your garden looking healthy, colourful and full of life throughout the summer.

Let us know if you have any questions.

It seems only right that we begin our Meet the Team series with Rachel — founder of Gardens by Rachel and the person responsible for bringing our lovely team together.

Rachel hasn’t always been a natural outdoor enthusiast. In fact, her husband once described her as an “outdoor-a-phobe”! That changed after having her daughter Ella and discovering how rewarding it could be to create and enjoy beautiful outdoor spaces.

Today, Rachel is a qualified garden designer and horticulturist who loves helping people make the most of their gardens — whether that means a complete redesign, refreshing tired planting or simply creating a peaceful green space to enjoy.

Away from work, Rachel can often be found at her family allotment, running, cycling, walking or visiting other gardens for inspiration.

Rachel’s aim is simple: to help more people create a garden to be proud of.

Say hello to Rachel in the comments! 👋

You may have spotted us working in gardens around Leamington Spa, Warwick and the surrounding area, but how well do you know the people behind Gardens by Rachel?

We’re a friendly team of garden designers and horticulturally trained gardeners, brought together by a shared love of plants, beautiful outdoor spaces and helping people create gardens they can genuinely enjoy.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing each member of the team, sharing a little about their experience, their favourite parts of the job and what they enjoy when they’re not busy gardening.

First up will be the person who brought us all together — Rachel!

In the meantime, tell us in the comments: have you met any of the team already?

We look after some communal gardens and slowly we have been introducing colour and interest and pollinator friendly planting, to what were once quite green ‘amenity’ style with a full border of sarcococca which was not happy in full sun.
This border in the photos is less than a year old and looking lovely!

The other gravel garden is now 2 1/2 years old and doing fantastically.

Last weekend I visited Richmond Park to see the Isabella plantation - full of rhododendrons luckily not all of them had quite finished yet and pretty lakes.

and the gardens at Pembroke Lodge. Roses and herbaceous borders galore 😍
What a lovely surprise it was!

And the weather couldn’t have been so different to today 😆 the shade of the woodland was certainly welcomed.

We are pleased to announce that on completion of her exams Sophie has passed her Level 2 apprenticeship in horticulture AND obtained a distinction.
Huge congrats Sophie.

She is ready now for any plant related questions, you have, can identify, care for, prune, and look after almost all things, and also still loves the wildlife 😍

What a star! 🌟🌟
