October's here, and Laugharne has a walk named after a birthday.
Dylan Thomas turned thirty in October 1944 and wrote about setting out from the town that morning, climbing the hill above the estuary while Laugharne was still asleep behind him. Poem in October is one of his best loved.
The path is still there. It's signposted as Dylan's Birthday Walk, a couple of miles up round Sir John's Hill and back down, with the whole of the Taf laid out below you. Visitors come a long way to do it.
Live at Clôs Hugdon and it's just a Sunday morning.
Come and see the town for yourself this autumn. Book a viewing at sanclerproperty.co.uk
