Today is Blue Monday — the day they say feels the heaviest after the Christmas break. And for those working in construction, it’s not hard to see why.

The dark mornings, the long nights, and the cold snap we’ve just come through all take their toll. Even when the weather eases off, the impact lingers — delayed starts, disrupted routines, and the pressure of wanting to crack on and earn.

Bricklayers are a tough breed, but that doesn’t mean the winter grind doesn’t hit hard. This time of year tests everyone’s resilience, motivation, and mindset.

To all our lads pushing through the slowest, coldest part of the year — keep going. Lighter days, warmer weather, and better runs of work are on the way.
