There are 3 things we must get right when building your extension

1. The function & creating a space that is suitable for exactly what you want.

2. The external aesthetic - how do you want it to fit with the rest of the house.

3. The internal aesthetic - what quality and materials do you want inside to provide the feel and comfort you need.

To get this right we spend the time with every customer understanding what they want before delivering our design and ideas.

It isn't a sales person (it's Gordon the owner with over 30 years experience)

And it isn't rushed to quickly get you to the next stage.

We have limited capacity each year to do work.

When we take on a project we find out your vision for the space

What function you want
What you're concerned about
What aesthetic you'd like inside/outside

From here we create a bespoke quote

And we always try where possible to have 3 tiers to our quote:

1. Mid range where we try meet all your specs at great value.

2. Upper range where we try meet all your specs with best materials that will both last & have the feel of quality.

3. Lower range for when budgets maybe tighter and we need to wiggle things.

This transparency is what I think separates us from other living space renovation companies.

You ultimately get what you pay for as long as the materials and the skills are there

We always want to be upfront, honest and customer centred

Leanne wanted to freshen up her utility room.

The finish was dated, the sink surplus to requirement and she wanted to be able to fit a dryer in to make it a better space to keep up with the umpteen family washings 🤣

Fresh lick of paint
Tiled splashback
Solid oak worktop
New floating double unit
A shelving unit between space for washer/dryer
And a cheeky wee space to fit the ironing board in against washing machine (space savings always a bonus!)

Lining up for retirement it made sense to take action now and get work complete

So they got in contact for a chat ☕️

It was clear they had vision for the space - kitchen, living room, utility room and a downstairs toilet were redesigned and built via the extension.

It needed to meet buildings regulations and be acceptable height for neighbours.

And they wanted it to aesthetically tie in with the house & have a set of french doors leading to garden.

Scotgem managed the project every step of the way.

Gordon was in communication to ensure the job ran smoothly and that each stage met Wendy and John's specifications.

We recently transformed Jeanette and Kenny's home by replacing their old, rotten conservatory with a beautiful new extension.

Used now as a cozy "snug" it offers stunning garden views and let's them engage in their passion of watching birds & wildlife bustle about.

Inside, we renovated their living space by removing a wall to create a spacious, open-plan kitchen and dining area.
