A standard solar and battery system won’t keep your lights on in a power cut 🔌

Without the right kit, it would push power back down the grid while engineers are working on it. So it shuts off.

Add a gateway, like the Sigenergy one here, and your home drops into island mode the moment the grid goes. You get a notification in the app, run off your battery, and it reconnects by itself once the grid is stable again.

If you’re getting solar or a battery fitted, that’s the time to upgrade your consumer unit💡

Done as part of the package, it goes in at 0% VAT. That’s 20% off something a lot of homes need doing anyway.

On this job it wasn’t optional. The gateway lets the house run off grid, so every circuit needed RCD protection first.

Surrey install, finished last week ☀️

24 DMEGC 470W panels, 14 on the front and 10 on the back, fitted on Van der Valk on-roof mounting. That’s 11.28kWp up there.

Round the back it’s Sigenergy again. 8kW inverter, two 9kWh battery modules and the full home backup gateway, so the house keeps running through a power cut 🔋 Earth rod’s in the front garden to give it its own reference.

This one runs two air con units and the bills showed it. When a house uses that much, a bigger system is the one that makes sense. Big outlay, but it’ll be working hard from day one.

No roof space? No problem 🏠

This Hove terrace could only fit 6 panels up top — so we wall-mounted 2 more. 3.5kW total, and the wall panels are performing way better than most people expect ⚡☀️

It’s been a busy year installing EV chargers as more and more people are switching to electric ⚡️🚙

This is the Hypervolt home 3 Pro with a 7.5m tethered lead. The build quality on these units is incredible, meaning they are suitable for homes very close to the sea such as this one 🌊

We’ve had great feedback on the Hypervolt user app, as well as how easy it is to link into dynamic energy tariffs with Octopus and Ovo. All-in-all a great option if you’re looking for a home charger!
