Loose, uneven and borderline dangerous 450x450mm concrete paving removed to find that absolutely no sub-base had been installed. Area dug out and a sub-base of compacted type1 mot installed before laying 4 sized Indian sandstone paving on a full contact bed as per British standards. Finished with traditional sand / cement pointing. The old stepping stones were repurposed to create a feature area ready for our client to plant at her leisure.

Band of Builders, Keith's project phase 2

A severe stroke in 2021 robbed Keith, a retired joiner, of his speech & mobility. In 2024 Band of Builders completed a project to construct an extention meaning Keith could have a purpose built ground floor bedroom and wet room.

Over the past few days, a group of like minded tradespeople came together to construct a level access composite decked area allowing Keith to have access to his garden again. I was asked to be project lead on this project and it was an absolute honour.
Seeing Keith in his garden smiling made the long days of hard graft so so worth it. You really cant beat the feeling you get from giving something back and helping to make people's lives better when they've been dealt such a cruel blow.

A huge thank you has to be said to Travis Perkins in Newport who donated all of the materials and went above and beyond to get anything we needed to us in double quick time.

Above all, the team I worked with were amazing, absolute hero's.
We arrived as strangers and left as friends 🧡
