Full swing at Field Lane
Our team are delivering a substantial double-storey extension on this one, and the progress on site speaks for itself. Externally, the structure is taking real shape - brickwork, roofing and the building envelope all coming together to match the existing property. Internally, first fix works are underway, with the space steadily transforming room by room as the project moves forward.

It’s a big scope, demanding serious coordination between trades to keep everything on programme - and the team are holding that pace without compromising on quality.

September Round-Up

What a month it’s been on site. From groundworks and glazing to strip-outs, fit-outs and new projects landing on the books, the team’s kept up a serious pace across the board. At Keepers Cottage, groundworks, drainage and the frame extension are now complete, with the interior prepped for phase two. Deanbrook Barn has moved from strip-out into fit-out, with rewiring and decoration underway across multiple rooms. Exterior works have begun at Llanfoi Cottage, with original lime plastering and stone wall construction now in progress. Thatched Cottage joins the HSP portfolio as a new project, with upgrade and decoration works set to commence shortly. And at Field Lane, a substantial double-storey extension continues to progress well, with the team making strong headway on site.

HSP Employee of the Month, September: Liam Higgs

This month’s recognition goes to Liam Higgs, our bricklaying apprentice, and it’s well earned. Liam’s put in the hard graft day in, day out, backing up the team and helping push our projects over the line when it mattered. From learning the trade to becoming someone the site can properly rely on, he’s grown into a dependable pair of hands and a genuine team player.

That’s exactly the kind of attitude we build careers on at HSP.

Recently, our senior team headed out to the Porcelanosa Global Headquarters in Villarreal, Spain, for three days that gave us a proper look behind the curtain of one of the biggest names in our industry.

Porcelanosa started life in 1973 as a Spanish tile company and has since grown into a group of specialist manufacturers covering natural stone, mosaics, solid surfaces, bathtubs and advanced building solutions. Walking the factory floor and seeing the process from raw material to finished product put a lot of that scale into perspective - the precision that goes into every tile, the standards that sit behind the range, and the sustainability thinking that’s now built into how they manufacture.

Beyond the factory tours, it was three days of good company and real conversation with people across the industry, the kind of trip that sharpens how we think about the materials we choose and the standards we hold ourselves to on site.

A bricklayer by trade, Mark’s put in the years on the tools and it shows in how he leads. He doesn’t just manage a site, he sets the standard on it: first to muck in, sharp on the detail, and always across what the job needs.

Since stepping into the role, Mark’s brought real organisation and steady hands to our commercial projects, coordinating the team and trades, keeping the day-to-day on track, and holding programme, quality and HSP standards throughout.

Credit where it’s due, that’s the kind of foreman you want on your site.

A new one for the team, a thatched cottage nestled away in the picturesque grounds of Tatton, Knutsford. These older homes need a different kind of attention, and we’re working closely with the client to give this one the update it deserves: paint, fix, check, advise, quantify. Patient work, done properly, to bring it back to its former glory.
