⚡ FELLOW ELECTRICIANS – HELP PLEASE! ⚡
I’ve been asked to test a mobile catering unit that has been shipped over from China.
My main concern is that it appears to have two separate supplies, each fed from an individual 32A Commando inlet, but there is no single main isolator that isolates both supplies simultaneously.
Each supply has a Schneider iDPNa C32A 1P+N circuit breaker within the unit.
My question is: would you consider the Schneider iDPNa C32A acceptable as the main isolation device for each individual supply, or would you expect a means of isolation that isolates both supplies together?
I’m particularly interested in what others would record on an EICR in this situation and whether you would consider the existing arrangement compliant.
I’d appreciate views from anyone with experience of commercial catering units/mobile catering installations, particularly where there are/could be multiple supplies feeding the same unit.
Thanks in advance - looking for constructive opinions rather than a keyboard-warrior debate as I haven’t come across this before.
I always think a good electrician should be inquisitive & I’m definitely not afraid to ask for advice 🤪😇
Thank you 🙌🏻
