❄️Another successful install completed at Crantit Dairy ❄️

This job started as a compressor failure on a large walk-in freezer. However, as the system was running on R22 (a refrigerant that can no longer be topped up or recharged), once the gas was removed the system had to be converted over to R449A to get it back up and running.

The job involved:
• Full recovery and safe removal of existing R22 refrigerant
• Removal and replacement of the failed compressor
• Installation of new components where required
• System pressure testing and deep vacuum
• Recharge with R449A, a newer and more environmentally friendly refrigerant.
• Full commissioning and performance testing

The system is now running efficiently and holding temperature as it should, with improved reliability going forward, allowing Crantit to get Orkney Ice Cream back out there and in your freezers.

If your system is still running on R22, you could be facing longer and more expensive breakdowns, as even simple faults can turn into bigger jobs due to refrigerant and parts limitations.

🔧❄️ Cooling System Back Up & Running at Barrier View Café ❄️🔧

We recently carried out a repair at Barrier View Cafe, Celina Rupp Jewellery.

A refrigerant leak was identified and repaired. The system was then fully pressure tested, vacuumed down correctly, and re-gassed to manufacturer specifications.

The unit is now running at optimal pressures and temperatures, keeping everything perfectly chilled and ready for service.

🔧 Why regular refrigeration servicing matters 🔧

Here's one of my more recent jobs at Lucanos where I completed a full service across all refrigerated systems on site.

One of the biggest issues found was a heavily blocked condenser. Over time, dust, grease, and debris build up, restricting airflow. This causes:

Higher running pressures

Increased energy usage

Excessive wear on compressors

And ultimately… breakdowns at the worst possible time

✅ Job Complete – Papdale Stores ❄️

Another successful repair at Papdale Stores this week, getting their refrigeration unit fully back up and running just in time for Christmas 🎄

This unit required replacement of 2 failed capacitors and replacement of a compressor starter relay with full system checks done once repaired to ensure reliable operation

Perfect timing to keep drinks and fresh produce chilled during one of the busiest times of the year.
