Good afternoon followers, hope you are all well.
Lately we have had a lot of Electric Vehicle Charger enquiries. Just a bit information that a lot of people are not aware of. Before any EV charger can we installed 99% of the time permission must be obtained from the DNO in the area (whoever is in charge of the electrical grid in your area).
This is done by us calculating the maximum demand of your house, checking the current setup is in safe condition and then sending away the required paperwork. The DNO will then either say yes go ahead or no some upgrades are required. We are currently awaiting about 28 days for a response. If upgrades are required the EV charger cannot be installed until these are carried out by the DNO.
Unfortunately this does mean a lot of people have an electric car but no charger. Please give us as much notice as possible when looking to install a charger point. Please for your own safety stay clear of companies not following the correct procedure.
