The patio that became a monument ! πŸ›

From an unsafe garden to contemporary masterpiece, we transformed this unfinished and previously neglected patio into a functional and beautiful space to enjoy with family and friends.

With a one year old girl and another baby on the way, the new occupiers to this lovely house near Oldswinford needed an uplift to their garden, and most of all needed it safe for their children, without the concern of them falling down a 6 foot gap down the side of their fence by trending on a loose slab!

The original homeowners it seems had built the walls and steps, however nothing was square to anything else, requiring us to rebuild near enough the whole structure. I consciously tied the pattern of the slabs and the walls to fit perfectly together, and I'm really pleased with the results. I then rendered and painted the walls myself, which was a bit out of my comfort zone, but I did enjoy it.

The new fence which had to act as a retaining structure for the side of the patio, due to the massive drop down to the neighbours garden, required 12 foot concrete posts. The stop the fence from bowing out due the the weight of the hardcore downt the side of it we tied the fence into the concrete under the patio using multiple steel straps per bay. We used a total of 6 gravel boards stacked to retain the hardcore plus a 4 foot fence panel on top.

This was a challenging job, however it was a great success and I am really pleased with the results. The next phase will be glass ballistrades and a new lawn, which will give the garden the finishing touch, potentially happening later on this year.

A massive thank you to my amazing customers again (this time an old mate of mine) for you hospitality, kindness and for making my job as stress free as possible. I really do appreciate you.

On to the next one! ❀️

Here's a job we completed last month, during the pouring rain, for the loveliest customers you could ever wish for. The decking was rotten and unsafe, the slabs were looking very tired, and the levels were never how she had wanted. Previous landscapers had told her that what she wanted 'couldn't be done'.
Keeping the existing raised areas intact, we installed three new decking areas, to match with her original vision, with sleepers around the edges (with extremely robust frames), along with raised beds, a new sandstone patio, and a sandstone path down the side of the house.
The customer was delighted with the result, and so were we. Despite the rain it was an absolute pleasure. Thank you Lynn and Kevin for being such wonderful hosts! πŸ‘ ❀️

Project: Afterlife ✨️

Just completed this garden, for a fantastic family in Lakeside, Brierley Hill.

What an experience.

Months of rain, snow, gridlocked traffic, Christmas, and new year. This job was without doubt the most difficult and emotional that I have ever done.

And I'm so grateful.

Thank you to the amazing, down to earth, understanding and accommodating customers. Your family is an inspiration, truly, and I wish you many, many happy years of enjoyment from this garden. (It's probably the best in the street).

Thank you to my labourers Gaz and Paul, for putting up with me, for their hard graft in all weathers, and for turning up when I needed them. We got there in the end! Now, on to the next one πŸ˜„.

Thank you to my brother in law Nikos, and father in law Andrew, for giving me hope, and for helping me get over the finish line. I appreciate you so much 🫢.

And thank you to my family, for their understanding, and patience, and love.

And thank you to my customers in waiting, for your patience and understanding. And those waiting for quotes - I will get those quotes over to you ASAP!

And thank you God. For being.

Now... where's my award? πŸ˜„πŸ†
