Only nine more events before the year is out 📅

Stiltz Trusted Assessors are back on the road for OTAC and DFG Foundations Roadshows, meeting Occupational Therapists, Case Managers, Housing Adaptation Teams and Disability Specialists across the UK.

🏡 They'll be sharing clear, practical guidance on homelifts and how they support safer, more independent movement around the home, drawing on experience from both DFG-funded and private projects.

Three peaks and 24 miles later… Andy did it! 🥾⛰️

A huge congratulations to Stiltz Enquiry Team Manager Andy MacMillan, who has completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and helped raise funds for Cancer Support Yorkshire 💙

After the original team challenge had to be postponed during the summer heatwave, Andy was determined to see it through and eventually took on the route solo.

And it's quite a trek:

⛰️ Pen-y-ghent: 694m
⛰️ Whernside: 736m
⛰️ Ingleborough: 723m

Not only did Andy complete all three peaks, he did it in just 7 hours 54 minutes, smashing the traditional 12-hour target 🎯

It’s World Calligraphy Day! ✒️

There’s something so special about slowing down and creating with your hands.

When Stiltz customers Marian and Eric Ramsay invited us into their North London home, we got to see Marian in her element, surrounded by her calligraphy, paintings and drawings in the upstairs room she now uses as an art studio 🎨

It hadn’t always been that way.

Marian has lived with rheumatoid arthritis since she was 18 and, in her twenties, lost a leg and part of her pelvis to cancer.

As getting up and down the stairs with her prosthesis became more difficult, the spare room upstairs gradually stopped being used and her art moved to the dining room instead, leaving her without a dedicated space to keep all her materials.

The couple considered a number of options to make getting around their home easier before discovering Stiltz. A Duo+ Homelift proved to be the best fit for them, fitting neatly between their sitting room and spare bedroom.

With access to the upstairs room again, Marian was able to reclaim the space for her art and get back to enjoying her creative hobbies whenever she wanted.

“The fact that I can access upstairs and paint and draw is so calming," Marian shared. "It’s so good for my mental health.”

🤔 What happens when you've found your forever home, but changing mobility needs threaten one of its best features?

That's exactly the challenge this homeowner based in South Africa faced.

Their beautiful open staircase was a dramatic focal point of the property, so preserving the space and its striking design was just as important as improving accessibility.

Working with an exceptionally large stairwell void, our partner Lifta SA took on the challenge and installed a Stiltz Trio+ Homelift.

By incorporating a bespoke platform at the base, the lift appears to defy gravity as it travels through the centre of the spacious void.

The result is a home that's easier to enjoy without compromising the feature that made it so special 🏠 ✨
