Amongst the steady stream of routine repairs and servicing, some customers opt for complete "zero hours" rebuilds, this Kenwood A701A from the late 1960's has been completely refurbished throughout bring it back to factory fresh condition with new parts where necessary. The customer requested a coiled mains flex which has been sourced from a British manufacturer and is a very neat upgrade from the standard flex.

It's been a while since I updated on here, I've been so busy with all kinds of repairs and jobs but the old Kenwood mixers keep steadily coming in for servicing. I recently had a KitchenAid Espresso coffee machine in for repair, most parts for these are available from Gaggia as this is who manufactured the device however some parts are peculiar to the K.A. model and are now obsolete. Such is the case with the steam boiler fl**ge, which had corroded and become porous on this particular machine. The customer did not want to scrap the machine so I prepared a quote to make a new boiler fl**ge which they accepted. Here is the new part made and ready to install. It's not a cheap repair by any means but when compared to the cost of a new equivalent machine at around £1500 - £1700, it made sense to do the repair.

A701 motor fully serviced, commutator skimmed to remove grooves caused by the brushes wearing down to the springs, windings cleaned and tested, bearings lubricated and ready for reassembly with new brushes. All machining is carried out in-house to a high standard.
