✨Project📍St John the Baptist Church ✨

O&O, in collaboration with Beard Oxford, successfully completed the refurbishment of the nave and chancel areas at St John the Baptist Church, carefully restoring these historic spaces while introducing modern lighting and heating solutions.
 
Originally constructed in 1852, the church features beautiful architectural detailing and timber craftsmanship. The refurbishment was designed to revitalise the tired interior spaces, enhancing both the visual appearance and comfort of the building while respecting its historic character.
 
The existing lighting and heating systems were fully removed to allow remedial works throughout the nave and chancel. A new lighting scheme was then installed, consisting of discreet high-level track lighting mounted to the timber columns and carefully hidden from view. The new installation provides both practical and decorative illumination, highlighting the stunning architectural features of the church and creating a warm and welcoming environment.
 
All lighting has been integrated into a dimming control system, enabling the church to operate automatic lighting scenes tailored to different services, events, and occasions.
The new heating system comprises under-pew heaters installed beneath the majority of the pews, delivering improved comfort and a more consistent temperature throughout the church for congregation members and visitors alike.
 
This project successfully combines sensitive restoration with modern electrical and heating solutions, ensuring the church can continue to serve the community for years to come.
