We recently completed the installation of a new Paxton Access Ltd Net2 Entry system for Exeter School, Corby.

Following the upgrade of their pedestrian gate over the summer holidays, the school wanted to modernise their entry system. With an existing Paxton Net2 infrastructure already in place across the site, integrating the new Entry system was the obvious choice.

Check out our recent installation of an Ajax Systems intruder alarm for a domestic client in Milton Keynes. Our installation provides a modern, reliable, and user-friendly security solution for their home.

As the summer holidays come to an end and schools prepare to welcome students back this week, it's a good time to reflect on what has been a busy and productive summer.

Over the break, we successfully delivered access control upgrades across two SEN schools, installing more than x35 ACUs and implementing new Paxton Access Ltd systems to enhance site security and management.

Alongside this, we upgraded the VMS software for another school, taking on their existing CCTV infrastructure and helping them get far greater value from their investment through the implementation of NxWitness VMS. Rather than replacing systems unnecessarily, both projects focused on making better use of what was already in place while significantly improving security, usability, and long-term value.

I'm particularly proud that both projects were delivered on time, within budget, and ready ahead of students returning this week. Quality and budget were equally important throughout, and achieving both is always the goal.

It's been a summer of long days, hard work, and plenty of challenges, but seeing the finished result makes it all worthwhile.

Now the schools are ready, the students are returning, and we can finally catch our breath.

We're doing a lot of Paxton Net2 this summer across multiple educational settings. While the rest are enjoying their summer holidays, we're carrying out essential works.

It's been a busy week here at MMV with the summer holidays in full swing! ☀️🏫

Over the past few days, we've been carrying out maintenance and servicing on a Paxton Access Ltd access control system that we inherited.

As part of our visit, we've been carrying out detailed inspections of the ACUs and associated equipment. One thing that immediately stood out was the number of ACUs that had no 7Ah battery backup installed.

At MMV, we don't consider backup batteries to be optional. They are an integral part of any access control installation, ensuring the system can continue to operate in the event of a power failure or emergency situation. This is especially important within a school environment, where the reliability and resilience of security systems are critical.

For clarity, none of the ACUs pictured were installed or previously maintained by MMV, and the standards of workmanship shown do not reflect the quality we deliver to our clients.

Following our inspection, we'll be providing the client with a comprehensive report detailing our findings, along with a schedule of recommended remedial works. This will include rewiring and tidying a number of units to improve both reliability and future maintainability.

Routine maintenance is about more than just keeping a system operational. It's about identifying potential issues, improving resilience, and ensuring systems are ready to perform when they're needed most.
