EVER HAD PAINT BUBBLE OR PEEL?!?

its infuriating when you come to redecorate the room and it doesn’t go to plan. All because it wasn’t mist coated properly on the very first coat.

You’re all set up and ready to go once the plaster is dry right?! Just pour and paint? WRONG! ❌

Here’s a few things that I do before any painting.

- I make sure I hoover and mop the walls . That’s right HOOVER AND MOP. Why?? Well I’ve found that on most occasions the dust from mixing up the plaster or the dust from the carpentry work settles on the walls and will only cause adhesion issues going forward.

-I’ll always thin down the paint, This will help with the adhesion and application. Just read the manufacturer’s advice on the tin or bucket for how much to dilute it by.

- I then strain the paint. Most of the contract paints are cheap and full of “clumpy bits”. I use a strainer called Zeeke Tough Nets reusable paint strainer. The one I used in this video is an XL which is suitable for a massive paint scuttle. Theyre available on Amazon for next day prime delivery which is handy, just search Zeeke.

If the surface is clean, dust free and the paints diluted and strained, you won’t have any issues going forward and it will go to plan. ✅

Each job throws me a new lesson.

Not a single thing was flat level or forgiving! One wall was out of level by 2” top to bottom over a small 1.4m section! So today was spent cutting out flower heads for all the internals to help disguise the impossible pattern mismatch. I was screwing about the finishing match until offered some sound advice (Thankyou 🙌🏼)

Thankfully the wallpaper from was an absolute DREAM to work with! 😍 if that had been Laura Ashley I’d have given up and cried into a dark corner somewhere.😅

Really chuffed to see it complete now though. Can’t wait to see the finishing touches and the new carpet when that goes down. 🤩

Don’t mention the state of my sprayer though. She’s been sat for over a year. Poor girl 😅

I’m doing that many reels I don’t even know what to write anymore, I give up 😂 I’m just spraying, with a quick shot and a helmet on, nothing exciting but here it is!

I will go in tomorrow to see all the imperfections and get those sorted. Hopefully by then the customers have picked their chosen colour for the woodwork and panelling🤞🏼
