Construction is underway on an 18MW in Wiltshire, which forms part of Centrica’s plans to build a 650MW solar portfolio by 2026.

The 18MW Codford Solar Farm, near Warminster, was acquired in 2021 and received Centrica investment approval in December.

The first solar panel racks were installed in April on which the 33,000 panels will be mounted. The solar farm is expected to be complete by the summer.

Motability Operations, which runs the Motability Scheme that enables disabled people to lease a new vehicle, has partnered with Zap-Map to undertake a three-month trial using its app to map of the charging infrastructure.

The aim of the trial is to assess the experience of people with disabilities who need to charge an electric vehicle (EV) on the UK’s public charging network and to find ways to make improvements.
