30m² Rear Extension & Home Remodel
From an underused rear elevation to a bright, open-plan family living space
This project involved the complete transformation of the rear of an existing family home, creating approximately 30m² of additional living space alongside a substantial remodel of the existing ground floor.
The Brief
The aim was to create a large, open-plan kitchen and dining space with a much stronger connection to the garden, while making better use of the existing kitchen area.
The project incorporated a single-storey flat-roof extension, new kitchen and dining space, roof lantern, bifold doors, utility room and a new downstairs shower room.
Parker Construction managed the project through the construction process, coordinating the specialist trades required including:
* Groundworks
* Brickwork
* Electrical installation
* Plumbing
* Windows and bifold doors
* Flat roofing
* Roof lantern installation
Parker Construction undertook the main structural and finishing works, taking the extension from the timber structure through to the completed internal spaces.
Internal Transformation
The extension created a substantial new open-plan kitchen and dining area, flooded with natural light from the roof lantern, windows and bifold doors.
The internal fit-out included:
* Full kitchen installation including island
* Engineered timber flooring
* Internal doors
* Skirting and architraves
* Final carpentry and finishing works
* Integration of the new extension with the existing house
The former kitchen was then stripped out and remodelled to make much better use of the original floor area.
This created a new utility room together with a downstairs shower room and WC, including shower enclosure, sanitaryware, vanity unit and associated finishes.
One project. Coordinated from construction through to final finish.
