Congratulations to EX2 Team Snowdon! 👏

While most of us were still fast asleep in the early hours of Sunday morning, our incredible team were already making their way up Snowdon—navigating the dark to reach the summit for sunrise.

Although the view at the top turned out to be very foggy, their achievement is anything but!

The team have raised an amazing £2,400 (and counting!) for the South Western Ambulance Charity, smashing their original £2,000 target.

Described as a “Great experience”… though perhaps not one to repeat anytime soon (!), our engineers and managers are already back at work today, supporting projects across the South West. A true testament to their dedication both on and off site.

Huge well done to everyone involved - and thank you to all who supported and donated.

We’re delighted to share that EX2 Group has been shortlisted for Infrastructure Project of the Year at the Constructing Excellence South West Awards!

This recognition is for our five-year programme delivering a major electrical infrastructure upgrade at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital - one of the most complex live healthcare environments in the South West.

Working in close partnership with the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and our supply chain, the project has strengthened the hospital’s resilience and capacity all while remaining fully operational throughout.

We’re absolutely blown away by your generosity shown so far 🙌

Thanks to everyone’s support, we’ve already hit our original fundraising target of £1,500 for our Snowdon Sunrise Challenge. With that momentum behind us, we’ve upped the target to £2,000 to raise even more for an incredible charity South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

Training is well underway too. These photos are from our weekend training walk on Dartmoor, 12km with just over 400m of ascent. A tough but rewarding route… and done in daylight this time!

Plenty more preparation to go before we take on Snowdon in the dark.

We have two EX2 Group milestones this month – 10 years with Dan Manning and Kelly Freemantle!

We’re proud to recognise Dan, Senior Electrical Project Manager and Kelly, Accounts Manager who are both celebrating 10 years with EX2 Group.

Dan joined EX2 on site as an Approved Electrician / Site Supervisor. After five years he joined the office team as a Project Supervisor, quickly progressing to Project Manager and now Senior Project Manager.

Over the past decade he has supported delivery of a wide range of projects, including our work with the Buttercup Ward (Nightingale Hospital), The Plym Neuro Rehab Unit, the new build Tiverton Endoscopy Unit, hybrid theatres at Royal Devon, Exmouth Community College and Derriford District Centre.

When Kelly joined, the business had just three office-based staff. After 16 years in the Civil Service, moving into a private sector construction business and taking on finance was a big shift.

Starting with admin, invoices and payroll, Kelly grew with the business as it expanded. Along the way she completed AAT Level 2 and Level 3 bookkeeping, helping build the finance function that now supports our team of nearly 50 people.

Their journeys highlight what we value at EX2 – opportunity, development and supporting our team to grow with the business.

Thank you both for your hard work, commitment and contribution over the last decade. Here’s to the next chapter!

£1,000 raised already for the Snowdon Sunrise Challenge!

An amazing start – and a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the EX2 team so far.

☀️ Solar project at Falmouth Hospital supporting the local community ☀️

A renewable energy project at Falmouth Hospital is delivering benefits beyond the hospital site, with the team at EX2 Group helping the Dracaena Centre showcase the impact of solar power.

While our team at EX2 Group is installing solar PV as part of a wider NHS renewable energy programme for NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, we’re also supporting the nearby Dracaena Centre with a new public-facing solar energy display.

Alongside the hospital’s solar installation, our Eco-Tech team is installing a new display in the Dracaena Centre reception area. The display will show real-time information from the centre’s existing solar panels, including how much electricity is being generated and the carbon savings being achieved.

The aim is to turn the centre’s solar energy system into an educational tool, helping visitors, staff and service users better understand renewable energy and sustainability.

It’s a great example of how projects can support both essential healthcare services and the wider community. 👏

🏔️ Snowdon Sunrise Challenge – Support the EX2 Team! 🏔️

A team from EX2 will soon be climbing Snowdon overnight to reach the summit in time for sunrise. It’s an early start, a tough climb, and a real test of determination - but it’s all for a great cause: South Western Ambulance Charity.

Working closely with South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, we’ve seen first-hand the dedication of the people behind this vital service and wanted to give something back.

Funds raised will help equip Community First Responder volunteers, teach lifesaving skills in local communities, and provide wider support for NHS ambulance staff. 💙

Proud to see members of the EX2 team taking part in the Men’s Walk in support of our local hospice, Hospiscare. 👏

Six of the team joined thousands of walkers for the seven-mile charity walk, raising funds to support specialist end-of-life care for people across Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

A great effort for a fantastic cause, well done to everyone who took part and helped make a difference. 💙

It’s National Apprenticeship Week and we’re celebrating the fantastic apprentices who are helping shape the future of EX2 Group 👏

We currently have 10 apprentices working across our projects, gaining real hands-on experience while studying with Exeter College. Many of our team, including Director James Freemantle - started their careers as apprentices too.

From learning on live hospital projects to building practical skills on site every day, apprenticeships offer a direct route into a rewarding career.
