Another Ash tree with die back….

A glorious summers morning in Cumbria. I was asked to deal with this mature Cherry tree that had a big split appear in a limb. The tree is over 100 years old according to the woodland trust. I felled the limb off with a shallow gob/large hinge to allow it to slowly fold into the field without damaging to old cast iron fence.

Big thanks to the lads for getting this done in the incredible heat today. We moan when it’s cold and wet and we moan when it’s too hot🤣🤣 Andy, Charlie, Richard, Jack and myself got the job done. The tree was vandalised a few years ago when someone drilled holes in the trunk and poured engine oil into the holes, the tree then went into decline and one side died. The residents who own the tree had a saftey survey done and the decision was to pollard to a standing trunk and see what happens as it has quite a bit of new growth on the trunk. The rope swing was saved too!! All wood has stayed for the residents to use and the Woodchip has gone to a couple of nearby residents for their garden.

A nice cypress removal this morning for a regular customer of ours. The tree had issues with inclusions that had torn out recently.

A wet Wednesday but the show must go on, it’s take a few months of planning to get the electric lines turned off so we can complete the Beech removal. Thanks to ENWL/Sottish Power for arranging.

A nice Sycamore dismantle today, lots of rigging. Jack did a good job in the tree and Richard an I were on the ground lowering and chipping.

A nice sunny morning in Arnside, we were removing this Eucalyptus that had got too big for the garden. The customer decided to deal with all the arising waste so we just had to get it down and stack the brash in a good pile to act as a crash mat for the trunk. Charlie did a cracking job of climbing and striping and I was on ground duty’s.
