Job for Kara at Daffodil Dance Academy 🛠️

This week I’ve been working at my daughter’s new dance studio, extending the ceiling to keep both the heat and the noise in for classes. As always, I didn’t get proper before and after photos but I can blame Kara this time 🤣

I’ll be back to finish plenty of other jobs here between now and the 2nd of March when she opens… the joys of being a joiner dad! I’m sure all the other tradies out there can sympathise 😆

Job for Claire in Saline 🛠️

Claire was hoping to have the existing outward opening doors patched and repaired, but it was clear this had happened a few times already and had reached the point where patching wasn't going to be a successful outcome. The decision was made to get bespoke doors made to match the existing ones, but to have them opening inwards and to be double glazed. New frame was installed and doors fitted with low profile threshold, rebated mortice euro lock and black iron period ironmongery.

Job for Kasia in Dunfermline 🛠️

Kasia had a double door sized opening in her lounge that she wanted the ability to close off. We discussed options such as folding doors or a pair of hinged doors but both of which would’ve encroached too much into the room. We decided on a barn style sliding door, which I made from two doors to work as one. No before picture here - I’m not 100% at remembering to get those 😆

Kasia sent a lovely photo and message afterwards to say how pleased she is with the job 😊

Job for Ann in Rosyth 🛠️

Ann wanted to revamp her bannisters from the old pine to twisted oak while reusing the iron spindles. I removed all the pine, newels, handrail, baserail and all stringer claddings. I replaced it all with twisted oak newels, oak handrails and baserails, clad all stringers in oak and reused the iron spindles as Ann requested. Newels finished with black metal caps.

Ann is really happy with her modernised bannisters and my attention to detail 😊

Job done for Laura in Saline. 😊

Laura wanted to utilise the cupboard under the stairs. I strapped and plasterboarded it (first photo is completed job pre decorating) and fitted out with pine shelves and internal door. Internal door was made to match the door into the cupboard. It was decorated by Carnegie Decorators.

For the shelves, the timber was sourced by Laura and I created a new shelf in her kitchen to store hot drinks. Alongside this I also created a live edge look on two existing shelves with said timber.
