On Friday afternoon, on the way back from Budleigh Salterton, I stopped in Woodbury to check on the garden of Lyndi and Stephane.
I usually go there every few weeks, and this year , I worked on it's renovation.
Thanks to 2 amazing builders and landscapers, it has changed a lot.
The next stage is to reseed the lawn, as I tried my luck doing it in late May, but with the summer we just had ,it only grew properly in the shadier part of the garden.
I will produce a video of the all renovation at a later stage.

On Wednesday in Dunchedeock I saw a cat playing with something.
I got closer , and as the cat run away, I saw this young grass snake.
I picked it up and put in a flower border , out of sight .

On Thursday afternoon I went to Malcolm and Heather's place for my fortnightly visit and I was amazed by the size of this white Dahlia.
We measured it, and the flower was 8.5 inches wide.
I said to Malcolm he should take it to the Scorriton fair, on tomorrow, for the Bank Holiday, to show it off.👍👍👍

Quite a bit of colour going on along this east facing border at the Lord Haldon hotel in Dunchedeock. Achillea, Persicaria, Sea Holly and pink Japanese Anemone, doing quite well , with half a day in the shade.

Pleasantly surprised on how well this red Penstemmon Garnet (P. Anderson an Friedrich Hahn) has coped with the dry hot weather.
I have seen other Penstemmon struggle.
On the other hand , the deep purple Agapanthus is still flowering well and one to think about planting more of, if this is the way the summers are going to be.
Hopefully it won't be like this every year .

Not much grass cutting in the last 5 or 6 weeks as the dry hot weather continues. So plenty of time to get on with trimm...

Not much grass cutting in the last 5 or 6 weeks as the dry hot weather continues.
So plenty of time to get on with trimming hedges, shrubs and anything else that needs doing.
Here I trimmed the ivy on the wall and around the colourful pots for Tim and Libby in Ottery.

Spent a few hours this morning near Rattery , weeding and tidying up borders. Didn't have time to get into the veg patch...

On Saturday, I finally had time to stop at the new Flower farm that recently opened along the A38 near Ashburton.
Nice place to walk around and stop for a coffee while looking at the flowers.
