I got given an electric Scarifier from one of my clients.
Basically brand new, he only used it once, bought from one of the well known Supermarkets.
I put it to the test and was really impressed.
I also used it on a bigger lawn, about a quarter of the size of a football pitch, and my goodness, the amount of thatch that came up was incredible .

I don't usually pick flowers for the house from our garden, but had to do it this time.
I have this lovely Dahlia "Copper Boy" in the front garden, with quite a few flowers on it, so I thought I could spare one for Judith 😁

Sorted out the Herb garden in Farway a couple of weeks ago.
Everything has done very well apart from 1 of the 3 Salvia Pratensis ( Meadow Sage), which in late August started wilting and died.
The Roman Chamomilles flowered their hearts out and started increasing in size and should provide next year complete ground cover.

This is the video of my cycle on Saturday morning from Heston Services on the M4 to Whitechapel in East London where Scarlett, our daughter lives. She is going to use the bike while she studies there.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Took this picture today in Dunchedeock.
The east facing border is looking good with late summer colour: red Persicaria fat Domino, deep pink Aster, white Leucathemella Serotina and yellow Helyanthus Lemon Queen.

It's that time of the year again, when I get all the Box hedges clipped in Farway.
I do it in stages, over 3 weeks, so that I have time to do other jobs in the garden .
Very pleased at the end ,when everything looks nice and sharp.

I have been quite busy in the last couple of weeks, so, social media always goes to the back burner.
Clipped back the Lavender Grosso, planted in Spring 2025 for Rachel and Tim, to a lovely round hammock, which will give a nice structure to the garden through the winter months.

On Friday afternoon, on the way back from Budleigh Salterton, I stopped in Woodbury to check on the garden of Lyndi and Stephane.
I usually go there every few weeks, and this year , I worked on it's renovation.
Thanks to 2 amazing builders and landscapers, it has changed a lot.
The next stage is to reseed the lawn, as I tried my luck doing it in late May, but with the summer we just had ,it only grew properly in the shadier part of the garden.
I will produce a video of the all renovation at a later stage.
