Another home made safe with Top Down Tree Services! 🌳🌲💪💪

We recently tackled a serious hazard involving a dangerously leaning tree that was heavily rotted at the base. Positioned right on the boundary, it posed a major threat to the neighbouring property, so we prioritised getting it scheduled and removed as quickly as possible.
​Because of how compromised the base was, safety was our top priority. We used a pole saw and ladders to carefully strip back the heavy foliage first, taking the load off the main trunk. Once the weight was reduced, we climbed the tree, secured a rope assist, and safely topped it off before dismantling it section by section.
​The site was fully cleared, tidied up, and left completely safe for the homeowners and their neighbours.

Time to pull out the big guns! 🌳

​We took our 4-metre electric pole saw and 5-metre arborist ladder to a wild cherry tree suffering from erratic epicormic growth and deadwood due to previous over-pruning.
​This combination of kit allows us to prune trees to a great shape from the outside without having to climb into the canopy—delivering a superior finish that not all tree surgeons have the equipment to achieve.

​We aimed for a 20% canopy reduction, pruning back to key internal nodes to improve light and airflow, vital for reducing the risk of fungal infections. We removed the majority of the problem growth on this visit, keeping stress on the tree to a minimum while restoring its shape.

​Proper tree care takes time and the right tools, but the results speak for themselves!

Top-down view from today’s office! 🪜🪵

​We tackled an overgrown Birch today that was leaning dangerously over a neighbour's fence.
​Deciding whether to reduce or remove a tree comes down to species health and safety. Silver Birches are particularly poor at recovering from heavy crown reductions, which often leads to decay. Combined with the structural lean, a full dismantling was the only safe, long-term solution.

​Carefully lowered piece by piece to keep both properties completely safe.
