We’re thrilled to share that our Junior Electrical Estimator, Austin, was awarded second place at the national CIBSE Apprentice of the Year Awards last week! 🏆

Austin joins our growing list of CIBSE award-winning team members here at DPL Group and we couldn’t be prouder of his achievement.

As one of just four apprentices shortlisted for the award, being recognised at a national level and achieving second place is an outstanding accomplishment.

Austin has certainly set the bar high for our current and future apprentices, and we look forward to seeing him continue to develop and progress in his career.

At DPL Group, we believe looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health!

With tomorrow marking World Mental Health Day, we wanted to share some of the steps we're taking to support our team's wellbeing.

We've recently become members of Mates in Mind, a charity dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, marking the start of a three-year commitment across our business and supply chain.

As part of this, colleagues from across DPL Group have completed the charity's ‘Start the Conversation’ Mental Health Facilitator training, helping them feel more confident in recognising when someone may need support and encouraging open conversations about mental health.

With further training planned across the business, this is just the beginning of our journey towards creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, valued and comfortable speaking up 🙌

Last week, our very own April took to the stage at BUILD Suffolk! 🙌

April joined the afternoon panel discussion on Social Value and Sustainability, sharing her insight alongside other industry professionals on a topic that continues to play an important role across the construction sector.

In our industry, it’s important that social value isn’t seen as a tick box exercise but as an opportunity to make a genuine difference to the communities we work in.

Work is now complete at the University of Suffolk’s new state-of-the art pharmacy facilities in the James Hehir Building!

Our team delivered a range of mechanical and electrical alterations across the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors, helping to transform the spaces into specialist teaching facilities for students.

Our M&E package has included:

✅ Ventilation systems

✅ Small power & lighting installations

✅ Air Conditioning Systems

✅ Fire alarm systems

✅ Data & security systems

✅ Building Management System alterations

We had a great time at the annual Morgan Sindall Construction Eggheads Quiz yesterday!

We had three teams representing DPL Group, with our Facilities Management team finishing an impressive 6th place… while our Fire & Security team picked up the second trophy of the evening – the wooden spoon 😂

The event raised an incredible £15,745 for Romsey Mill, Lennox Children's Cancer Fund and East Anglian Air Ambulance Charity, three amazing charities doing important work across our communities.

We were also proud sponsors of the cheese round 🧀

Thank you to the Morgan Sindall Construction team for another brilliant evening.

Last night, we welcomed colleagues, partners and members of our local community to Brighten The Corners in Ipswich to officially celebrate the launch of the DPL Group Foundation.

It was great to bring so many people together and hear from our guest speakers Hannah Bloom from Suffolk Community Foundation, Nicola Booth from West Suffolk Hospital and Joe Bailey from Brighten The Corners, who shared their experiences and the difference that collaboration and community support can make.

After more than 20 years of supporting charities and organisations within our local communities, it was a proud moment for the DPL Group team to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter.

Our small works team have been keeping busy over in Claydon!

Robert, Kieran and Nathan have been carrying out the first and second fix electrical installation for a 1000kVA standby generator container for G&M Euro Tex Ltd.

The works include the installation of general power and lighting, as well as a ladder rack and 400mm² cabling connecting the mains panel to the generator.
