World Mental Health Day 🌍🧠

Those working in the construction industry are often the first to turn up, crack on with the job, and push through the difficult days.

We’re an industry built on collaboration and teamwork 🤝, which means we rely on people looking out for each other every day, whether that’s on site, in the yard, behind the wheel of a HGV, or in the office.

While PPE, risk assessments and safe systems of work protect us from physical harm 🦺, many people face challenges that can’t be seen, and sometimes the hardest thing to do is speak up when you’re struggling.

On World Mental Health Day, let’s remember that supporting mental wellbeing isn’t just about today, it’s about the conversations we have and the steps we take every day to make sure nobody feels alone.

Never underestimate the power of checking in with someone and listening, because it could mean more than you may realise 💙.

ToppTalent Award 🏆⭐

Every person in our business plays a vital role in keeping the wheels turning on our operations, and at the heart of that is our Logistics team.

Recently, we were proud to present a ToppTalent Award to Kirsty and Caitlin, Transport Planners, for their continued efforts in keeping our projects running smoothly up and down the country. With absences in the team, they went over and above to plan jobs into the programme, while adapting to changing priorities and maintaining a positive attitude throughout.

Our people are our greatest asset 🤝, and we're proud to be a business that recognises and celebrates those who consistently go the extra mile.

Well done Kirsty and Caitlin, thank you for your dedication, commitment and teamwork! 👏

Over the last two weeks, we have been delighted to attend our valued customer, Kier Infrastructure’s, Area 3 & 4 SHE and Innovation Roadshows 🚧.

The events saw supply chain partners come together and demonstrate innovation, new ways of working and good practices across the maintenance and repair contract for Kier’s internal teams and customer, National Highways 🤝.

Nigel Green, Contracts Director, Tom Owens, Contracts Manager, and Andy Connell, SHEQ Business Partner, were delighted to represent Toppesfield and highlight some of the innovative practices we utilise on the contract.

It was a fantastic opportunity to share knowledge, learn from others across the supply chain and demonstrate how innovation can help improve safety, efficiency and sustainability across the network.

Thank you to Kier for hosting such a valuable event and for continuing to drive collaboration and best practice throughout the contract 👏.

Setting the standard from the ground up ✅

We believe quality starts long before any material is laid. Our fleet of bitumen sprayers undergo regular testing in line with BS 1707, helping to ensure accurate application rates, consistent performance and the highest standards of workmanship across our projects.

By investing in the maintenance, calibration and testing of our equipment, and thanks to the team at RST TESTING LIMITED, we can provide our customers with confidence that every scheme is delivered with precision, reliability and quality at its core.

Tested. Calibrated. Compliant. 🤝

Turning waste into opportunity 💡🌱

Every year, thousands of tonnes of material are removed from UK roads. Traditionally, much of this waste would have been sent to landfill, but with ToppBase, we give road planings a second life.

ToppBase transforms reclaimed asphalt planings into a range of high-performing alternatives to traditional base and binder courses. But why choose ToppBase?

♻️ Reduce carbon emissions by over 40%
💸 More value from your budget
✅ Quality without sacrificing performance
🌍 Helping you achieve Net Zero targets
✅ Added flexibility with on-site production

Our CRBM, CBGM and RCC mixes are engineered to meet the specific requirements of a wide range of sectors. From highways and local authority works to commercial and industrial developments, we help customers deliver lower-carbon infrastructure without compromising performance.
