Calder Electrical is looking to recruit an Administrative Assistant to support our growing business and team. This role would suit someone who is highly organised, proactive, and confident in managing a variety of administrative tasks. You will work closely with our Operations Manager and the wider team to ensure everything runs efficiently on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities:
- Handling incoming calls and emails in a professional manner
- Booking jobs and assisting with diary planning
- Inputting electrical certification data
- Arranging staff accommodation and training courses
- Managing our van fleet, including servicing and repairs
- General administrative duties, including updating systems and spreadsheets

What We’re Looking For:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Self-motivated, with initiative and a professional approach
- A team player with a willingness to learn new skills

Another great project completed. Our team at Calder Electrical has just finished installing a new panel board in an industrial warehouse in the Highlands.

The job involved replacing existing panel boards with new boards featuring built-in sub-meters. All work was carried out by our skilled electricians, delivering fantastic results for our client.

Riley Mackenzie is currently in his third year as an apprentice electrician with Calder Electrical. He continues to impress us with his commitment, enthusiasm, and hard work. From the beginning of his apprenticeship, Riley has shown a genuine passion for the electrical trade, consistently striving to expand his knowledge and improve his skills.

His dedication is evident in every project he undertakes, whether working on complex wiring systems, troubleshooting electrical issues, or contributing to the smooth running of our operations. Riley’s eagerness to learn and willingness to go above and beyond have made him a valued member of our team.

We’re proud to share one of our past projects—a complete electrical installation for the new Dalmore Farm Shop & Restaurant!
From the internal and external lighting to the wiring of the whole building, our team worked tirelessly to ensure every aspect of the electrical installation met their exacting standards. We're thrilled to have contributed to such a fantastic local business.

“When we made the decision to build our new farm shop, we chose Calder Electrical to complete our work. Supporting local businesses was our priority throughout the build, Calder Electrical was a growing business with a young team at this time. David from Calder Electrical was one of the first tradesmen on site before the concrete was even poured.
The electrical contract for our build was very complex, with intricate plans, hundreds of hours of labour required and thousands of meters of cabling and equipment.

As we approach the end of 2024, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our clients, partners, and dedicated team for their unwavering support and hard work throughout the year.

This year has been a truly busy year for Calder Electrical. A significant milestone was our acquisition by GEG Capital, marking an exciting new chapter for our business. Alongside this, we welcomed Daniel Cormack as our new Managing Director, whose leadership and vision have already set the stage for an exciting future.

We’ve been proud to deliver on a range of impactful projects throughout 2024. Highlights include our work on the Deephaven Project, where we collaborated with Scotbuild to wire and fit out the impressive new office space at the Deephaven site.

We also continued our commitment to supporting vital public services, with LED lighting upgrades and essential wiring works at NHS Raigmore Hospital and its laundry facilities. Additionally, we installed new EV chargers across several NHS sites and community hospitals, paving the way for a more sustainable future.

Our ongoing partnership with the Highland Council saw us deliver continuous maintenance and upgrade works across public buildings and schools, further strengthening our ties with the communities we serve.

Robbie Murray, our Operations Manager, summed it up best:
"I would like to thank the team for their continuous hard work this year, going above and beyond through all the changes throughout the year."
