A first for me today! 🔧⚡

Believe it or not, I’ve never installed a recessed consumer unit before. I know… crazy, right? 😂 But there’s a first time for everything!

This one needed the wall opening out a little further to get everything sitting nicely, but with the Fusebox flush mounting frame, the finished result looks great. 👌

I wouldn’t normally install a consumer unit with quite so many spare ways, but in this case it was necessary to fill the opening left by the old board and give everything a neat, professional finish.

Overall, I’m really happy with how this one turned out. A nice fresh, modern look and, most importantly, the installation is now fully compliant with current regulations. ⚡✅

Another job done and another new skill ticked off the list! 💪

Installed a new EV charge point today from a manufacturer I'd never come across before. It isn't one of the brands I normally recommend, but the customer had already purchased it and sent me the specifications over beforehand so I could make sure it was fully compliant.

I have to admit... it's actually a really smart-looking unit! 👌

Commissioning it, however, was a completely different story. 😅 It was an absolute nightmare to set up, so I don't think it'll be making its way onto my approved list anytime soon.

One thing I can't get out of my head though... is it just me, or does this charge point have a serious Star Wars vibe? 🤖⚡

What do you reckon? 😄

When a customer takes the time to leave a post on your page, it genuinely means a lot. 👌

This repeat customer had downlights installed in the soffit. Safe to say they are extremely happy with them.

Running a small business isn't always easy, so taking a few minutes out of your day to share your experience really does make all the difference. It helps build trust, supports local businesses, and reminds us why we put in the long hours.

What started as a straightforward job yesterday quickly turned into something a little different! 😅

I was booked in to sort out the electrics in a house where, after some pretty shoddy building work, most of the switches and sockets and a few light fittings had been left hanging off so tiny little fingers could have easily touched live parts. The shower was left disconnected too. This was for a customer I've worked for a few times before.

The night before, he asked if I could swap over two light fittings while I was there.

I thought, "No problem... they'll only take a few minutes!" 🤣

Then I saw them... 😳

Just under 2 hours later, and after what felt like millions of tiny fiddly parts, they were finally up! They definitely weren't your average light fittings, but the finished result made it worth the effort. 💡👌

To top it all off, yesterday also marked AA Electrical's 3rd Anniversary! 🎉

A huge thank you to all my customers, friends and family for your support over the last three years. Whether you've had me do a small repair, a full rewire, or simply recommended me to someone else, I genuinely appreciate every bit of support.

Today I returned to a customer I've worked for several times before, this time to install LED stair lighting alongside a beautiful new oak and glass banister.
I think the finished result looks fantastic – what do you think?
To keep disruption and damage to a minimum, I used wireless switches at both the top and bottom of the stairs. Once the new carpet is fitted next week, it's really going to complete the look and make the whole staircase feel fresh and modern.

Another EV charger installation completed today ⚡🚗
