Teamwork Makes the Dream Work – On & Off the Pitch! 📐​⚽️

​What a fantastic week it’s been in the office!

Our hard-working team has successfully submitted 3 major planning applications (making the local newspaper) and secured 3 planning approvals in just one week 🎉🏛️

​Great results take great teamwork; a lesson we see in action both in the studio and out on the field.

​We are incredibly proud to sponsor the Huntingdon Rowdies U11s football team! 🟢⚪️

Looking sharp in their kits, these talented kids show up every week with absolute determination, passion, and spirit.

​Standing on the sidelines watching them play each week is equal parts absolute joy and total nail-biting stress! 😅... very similar to the emotions we feel when presenting new designs to our clients.🙈

​A huge well done to our incredible team in the office and the stars on the pitch. Here’s to building great things together! 💪✨

Happy Friday from the team at Campbell McCrae Ltd! 📐✨

To wrap up the week, here is a quick thought from the legendary architect Sir Hugh Casson on handling the critics:

"The trouble with architecture is that you have to stand in it, look at it, live in it, and suffer from it. So naturally everyone has an opinion."

Speaking of opinions... while we spend our days navigating the intricacies of planning policies and the planning system in general, reading through the public objections on our current planning applications is easily the highlight of our Friday afternoons.

Here are a few of our absolute favorites from recent projects:

* The Canine Conservationist: "They leave their dog in the garden all day to bark, a smaller garden will upset the dog more and make it bark more."
(Architectural takeaway: Always design for the dog's mental health.)

* The Party Planner: "The owners of the property have lots of parties... a bigger house will result in bigger parties."
(More square footage = bigger speakers, obviously.)

* The Acoustic Genius: "Our BBQ area is just the other side of the boundary fence... if they open the window in the proposed extension, they will hear all of our conversations." (Because listening through an open window is so much easier than listening while standing right next to the fence in the open garden... 🤦)

All jokes aside, navigating the planning process and its colorful feedback is all part of our service and expertise! Despite the creative objections, we are thrilled to have a huge batch of fantastic applications heading toward positive determinations very soon.
