High wall in progress in Marsden, we took it down and it turned out it had been built with a single skin retainer, and needed tonnes more stone, and a big dig out (about 9 tonne of topsoil was removed) that needed replacing with stone and graft!
We’re nearly across the finish line now, we’re having to drip feed it stone because of access and nearby road closures added to the fun!

After Calderdale council demanded this tired old Victorian wall was sorted before collapsing, we were happy to oblige for our client!

We’ve carefully taken the old wall down, found large bedrock lumps the victorians had cleverly utilised, we’ve taken tonnes of rubble out of the back, got a nice level base and poured a footing.

The back is build up with block on belly for maximum retention, we’re cladding the original stone back on to the block retainer.
The curve has swept out a little wider to ensure the beloved eucalyptus tree can remain safely.

Gully behind, French drain atop, ensuring water can pass freely and escape harmlessly out of the low set drains.

We’ll be here another week and get it topped off with its original bespoke toppers, and get the railings back in situ, leaving our customers garden nice and safe and plant ready.

Something a bit different in Farsley (nr Pudsey, Leeds) a collapsing high wall was desperate to be taken out, and made safe, we’ve made it lower as per the clients request and I had the pleasure of my own daughter helping me finish it off for her work experience!
Well she get my job is heavy now 😂

Nice job on our doorstep for a returning customer!

When their old retaining wall was in disrepair we stepped in to rectify it, we had to cater for the sidewall backing onto a neighbours garden, so we set a checked back up in the gap where the fence had been cut around the old wall!
