How did I end up here?
In 1990, I left Chennai for the UK with my 18-month-old son El and started a completely new chapter of my life.
Those early years taught me a lot about resilience, adapting to change and finding a way forward when things didn’t always go to plan.
I had no idea then where that journey would take me.
I went on to build a career in project management, spending more than 25 years developing skills in decision-making, managing risk, solving problems and delivering complex IT projects.
Years later, Mark and I took those same skills into property.
One commercial conversion led to our first ground-up development... which eventually led to us delivering new homes in Huddersfield.
And in November last year, after years of building the business alongside my corporate career, I finally left my day job to focus fully on YNH.
Looking back, moving into property wasn’t really a complete career change. The industry was different, but so many of the skills I’d built over the years came with me; and perhaps the biggest one of all was resilience.
