We are aware of videos circulating on social media that were taken at the Newcastle Utilita Arena last night.

PHS, 0800 Repair and Oakes Energy Services do not have a box at this venue. We had a box at the Arena last year, and it appears that those signs have remained in place for the past 18 months.

The people involved were not our guests, and we do not condone the actions of those involved.

We have already contacted the Arena and asked for the signs to be removed.

We are seeking experienced plumbing and heating subcontractors to support delivery of our British Gas installation contract. If you meet the requirements below, then we’d love to hear from you.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗨𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀: Fit new domestic boilers (e.g., combi, system, regular), radiators, unvented hot water cylinders.

• 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Execute full central heating upgrades, such as converting older gravity-fed systems into modern, high-efficiency combi boiler systems.

• 𝗣𝗶𝗽𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 & 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Install and alter water and gas pipework, ensuring proper system flushes (chemical or power flushing) to clear debris.

• 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Test completed installations, measure flue gas emissions, check gas pressure, and ensure the system operates safely and at optimal efficiency.

• 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Hand over completed systems to homeowners, explain how controls work, and accurately complete Gas Safe documentation, building regulations notifications, and benchmark logs.

• 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲: Maintain a polite, professional manner while working in customers' homes, providing clear technical advice where needed.

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 & 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

• 𝗚𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Essential for working legally on gas appliances in the UK.

• 𝗔𝗖𝗦 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Current core domestic gas safety certification (CCN1) alongside specific appliance competencies, notably CENWAT (Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters).

• 𝗡𝗩𝗤 𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘀: A Level 3 Diploma in Gas Engineering or Plumbing & Heating.

• 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: A full, clean UK driving licence is standard, as the role is field-based.

• 𝗚𝟯 𝗨𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱): Often required or preferred to legally install unvented hot water storage cylinders.

𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 & 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀

• 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴:Ability to diagnose system issues and understand complex mechanical layouts.

• 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲: Competency in safely wiring up heating controls, thermostats, and motorized valves to the boiler.

More than 500 homes across North Yorkshire and Tees Valley are set to receive energy efficiency home improvements, making them warmer, more efficient and lowering energy bills for residents thanks to a new partnership between 0800 Repair and Beyond Housing

The programme of works will include retrofit assessments and upgrades such as cavity wall and loft insulation, improved ventilation, installation of smart thermostats, low-energy lighting and more.
