🌳 Roadside Ash Tree Removal – Handcross 🌳

Last week, we were contracted to remove a group of diseased ash trees identified by the local authority alongside the Horsham Road near Handcross.

Several of the trees were leaning back towards the road, so careful planning and controlled felling were essential. Using our forestry tractor and hydraulic winch, we carried out assisted felling to safely pull the trees away from the highway and back into the field.

Once felled, the trees were processed and our forestry digger and timber grab were used to efficiently stack the timber and brash. All remaining brash was then chipped using our crane-fed Heizohack chipper.

The site was left clean, tidy and—most importantly—safe on completion.

Removal to ground level of a small oak tree for a commercial customer last week.
All the brash loaded into the customers truck and the timber ringed and loaded onto their trailer using the digger and timber grab. Nick Walford again making light work of all the heavy lifting with the machine.

Reducing a row of leylandii and overgrown laurel from last week.
With there being plenty of room on this domestic job we were able to use the valtra and roof mount crane to stack everything on the side of the drive and then bring in our Heizohack and ten ton trailer. Thanks to Nick Walford for your help with this job and getting to grips with the crane and chipper.
The gateway was a squeeze but where there’s a will there’s a way. In this recent heat, having the machines in to do all the heavy lifting, dragging and chipping makes such a difference.

🌳 Clearing summer limb drop from this huge oak! 💪

A few weeks ago, this mature oak shed a substantial limb, sending it straight through the tennis court fencing before it came to rest against the building behind. Thankfully, we were able to safely dismantle and remove everything without causing any further damage to the property.

The oversized timber was quickly dealt with using the digger and cone splitter before being fed through the firewood processor and turned into quality logs. Meanwhile, all the brash was chipped using our crane-fed chipper, making light work of the cleanup.

It’s always satisfying seeing the right machinery take on the heavy lifting, turning what could be a difficult and time-consuming job into an efficient operation. 💥

Another site left safe and tidy. 👌

Out with the cone splitter come auger this week making light work of the hard ground to allow us to knock in and install gate posts with the tracked post knocker. It also meant we were able to auger out the bottom of an existing gate post that had rotted off at ground level to allow us to install a new post in the same place.
