Chainsaw maintenance and cross cutting assessment. With the sun streaming in makes it easy to see the crisply sharpened teeth glistening.

Drop it, chip it, log it.

This willow was causing excessive shading on a green at a local golf course so the green was struggling with water and moss.
The old cliche of "can't believe how much light it has let in" was being used by the golfers in force.

There is little worse in forestry in my opinion than using wire for attaching stakes and guards to a tree.
They cut into the tree reducing the value of the timber, they damage the tree and they damage equipment.

Been a wet and windy one today!
Chris Horne Arborist & Fenland Firewood made a very good job of this oak reduction and spruce dismantle in less than ideal conditions.
The oak was a victim of the recent winds and had lost a large section of its main leader. We removed the stuff from above the tear the shaped the rest of the tree in to suit.
