We're delighted to have donated this beautiful bug hotel to Orton St John's school. It'll provide a safe home for a range of insects and pollinators while helping pupils learn about wildlife, biodiversity and the importance of protecting our environment.

🌲 Our teams have recently been out working on removal of Ash Dieback Trees and the condition of this tree removed in recent works highlights just how unpredictable and potentially dangerous our industry can be. Even with detailed surveys, we can never fully know the internal state of a tree or the risks that may arise during removal.

On reviewing these photos, it clearly shows the severe deterioration inside the tree.

Despite this, the team demonstrated exceptional professionalism and a strong commitment to safety throughout the entire process.

They carried out thorough assessments, conducted the necessary tests, and continuously monitored the tree’s stability before proceeding.
Thanks to the teams careful planning and adherence to safety procedures, the tree was felled safely.

CANCELLED: Homegrown’s Annual Safety Day scheduled for 24 June has been cancelled due to the Met Office issuing a Red Warning for extreme heat.

While we are disappointed to be missing what would have been a valuable day together, the focus of Safety Day is always on looking after one another. In light of the current conditions, the safest decision is to avoid unnecessary exposure during this period of exceptional heat.

We appreciate your understanding and will share further updates in due course regarding rescheduling or alternative arrangements.

Our team has recently been working in the Chapel-en-le-Frith area to safely remove several Stage 4 ash dieback trees that showed significant decay at their base. These works were carried out on behalf of Network Rail following concerns raised by the local council.

To ensure the job was completed safely and efficiently, we used a Mobile Elevated Working Platform, particularly due to the dense ivy growth surrounding the affected trees.

Although the lane is privately owned by Network Rail, we made it a priority to keep local residents informed ahead of the works and updated throughout the process.
