CANCELLED: Homegrown’s Annual Safety Day scheduled for 24 June has been cancelled due to the Met Office issuing a Red Warning for extreme heat.

While we are disappointed to be missing what would have been a valuable day together, the focus of Safety Day is always on looking after one another. In light of the current conditions, the safest decision is to avoid unnecessary exposure during this period of exceptional heat.

We appreciate your understanding and will share further updates in due course regarding rescheduling or alternative arrangements.

Our team has recently been working in the Chapel-en-le-Frith area to safely remove several Stage 4 ash dieback trees that showed significant decay at their base. These works were carried out on behalf of Network Rail following concerns raised by the local council.

To ensure the job was completed safely and efficiently, we used a Mobile Elevated Working Platform, particularly due to the dense ivy growth surrounding the affected trees.

Although the lane is privately owned by Network Rail, we made it a priority to keep local residents informed ahead of the works and updated throughout the process.
