Action shot from a recent call-out at the Carshalton Bowling Club! 🎳🐝

As the weather warms up, wasps are actively looking for quiet, undisturbed spots to build their nests. This is your friendly reminder to look carefully before reaching into sheds, opening outbuildings, or popping your head up into the loft! Nests can grow incredibly fast in areas we don't check every day.

If you spot a nest or notice heavy wasp activity, don't risk a sting. Stay safe and leave it to the professionals.

📍 Poundhill Shed Surprise!
Out in Poundhill (Crawley) yesterday, and it’s officially that time of year! 🐝

We were called out to treat this classic starter nest tucked away right up in the roof of a garden shed. Right now, a lot of these nests are about the size of a tennis ball. They look harmless enough, but because they are hidden away in dry, undisturbed timber like this, they will absolutely explode in size over the next few weeks if left alone.

If you are getting the lawnmower out or clearing out the shed this weekend, remember to look up! 🛖

Your WaspFree shed checklist:

Check the roofline: Look for grey, papery, swirl-patterned balls attached to the roof boards or beams.

Watch the outside: Look for a steady stream of wasps flying in and out of a single gap in the shed cladding or under the felt.

If you spot one, don't risk a sting in a confined space. WaspFree covers all of Crawley, Epsom, and the surrounding villages.

We operate with a strict Fixed Price Guarantee, so you know exactly what the treatment costs before I even put the white suit on. No hidden fees, just honest local service.

Spotted a "swarm" of angry bees dancing around the apex of your roof in Surrey? Don't panic! 🛑

We were called out to a property in Epsom this week by a worried homeowner who thought they had a massive wasp issue. As local experts, we were able to quickly identify these as Tree Bumblebees.

What you are seeing outside is the famous "drone dance." Dozens of male bees hovering near the entry point, waiting for a queen. Male bees do not have a stinger and are completely harmless. 🌺

However, the nest inside is a different story. ⚠️

Tree bees love to nest high up in roof spaces, very often tucked right underneath your loft insulation. While the dancing males outside won't hurt you, the worker bees guarding the nest inside can become highly aggressive if they are disturbed—such as if you are moving boxes around in the loft. 🛖

Our Expert Advice: If they are in a spot where they won't be touched, leave them 'bee'! They will naturally move on in a few weeks.

Allergy Warning: If the nest is in an active area of your home, or if anyone in your household suffers from severe sting allergies, please do not investigate it yourself.

Give WaspFree a call on 07405 892 891 or send us a message. We will provide honest, ethical advice to keep you and your family safe. 🐝

Something fascinating is happening in lofts and garages across Surrey and West Sussex right now. 🏗️

Take a close look at this video. This is the official "Moving In" day. 🐝

Right now, solitary Queen wasps, having emerged from hibernation, are working entirely alone. They are building tiny, irregular "starter nests" from chewed wood pulp to raise their first brood.

It is incredible engineering to watch... 🛖
..But it is also the ideal moment to intervene before this tiny, marble-sized structure grows into a summer nuisance.

We are out across Crawley, Reigate, and surrounding areas today. Getting these nests sorted this early is:
✅ Fast and efficient
✅ Safe for your family and pets
✅ Guaranteed at our Fixed Price with no hidden call-out fees.

Keep an eye on the quieter corners of your property this afternoon.

If you spot a single queen setting up home on your fascia boards or inside your shed, don't wait for her family to arrive. Give us a call or send us a message, and we can have it sorted, often on the same day. 🐝
