It’s been an extreme busy week for us this week where we have had to split our tarmac gang up.

One group were busy laying over 1000 tons of tarmac on a commercial job, whilst our other group kept things ticking over for our domestic operations.

Yesterday they completed the supply and lay of tarmac for this 135m2 driveway in Delph, Oldham.

The area was fully prepared by others prior to our arrival. We treated the area with weedkiller before laying 15.9 tons of base tarmac, in 1 x 50mm layer.

We completed the job by laying 9.5 tons of 6mm SMA (stone mastic asphalt) industrial tarmac, in 1 x 30mm layer.

Last week we completed the reconstruction of this 63m driveway, in Waterloo, Huddersfield.

The original driveway was concrete with a tarmac overlay. We broke out the concrete and excavated to required depths.

New 6” concrete edgings were laid on concrete bed and backing, to good line and level.

The drive was treated with weedkiller and stoned up as required.

7.4 tons of 20mm open texture base tarmac was laid in 1 x 50mm layer.

The drive was completed by laying 4.4 tons of 6mm open texture tarmac, in 1 x 30mm layer.

Today we completed the reconstruction of the 24m2 area to the front of this property in Holmfirth.

We excavated the entire area to required depths.

12 linear meter of stone setts, were laid on concrete bed, to good line and level.

We treated the area with weedkiller before stoning up as required, using MOT type 1 limestone and compacted.

2.8 tons of base tarmac, was laid in 1 x 50mm layer. The area was finished by laying 1.8 tons of 6mm SMA (stone mastic asphalt) industrial tarmac, in 1 x 30mm layer.

This week we completed this project in Wakefield.

We constructed a new vehicle crossing for access to the driveway. The area was excavated to required depths and we laid 14 linear meter of 6” flat top edgings on concrete bed and backing, to the driveway entrance. 19 linear meter of 7 x 5 chamfered centre kerbs were laid on concrete bed and backing, in preparation for the crossing to be tarmacked.

The total area including the crossing was 190m2.

We treated the driveway with weedkiller and compacted the hardcore.

50mm of base tarmac was laid and compacted before 30mm of 6mm SMA (stone mastic asphalt) industrial tarmac was laid to complete the job.

Yesterday we completed the supply and lay of tarmac for this 120m2 driveway in Mytholmroyd, Halifax.

The area had been full prepared prior to our arrival.

We treated the area with weedkiller before laying 60mm of base tarmac. We completed the job by laying 40mm of 6mm SMA (stone mastic asphalt) industrial tarmac, in 1 x 40mm layer.

Today we supplied and laid tarmac, base and top to this 85m2 driveway in Lindley, Huddersfield.

The area had been fully prepared by a local contractor prior to our arrival.

We treated the entire area with weedkiller, before laying 10 tons of base tarmac, in 1 x 50mm layer.

We finished the area by laying 6 tons of 6mm gritstone wearing course, in 1 x 30mm layer.
