Cheeky walnut thin & cutback from August

Reduction and major lift of this lovely eucalyptus in Hitchin, no photo of the back because some pillock on a scaffold decided to carve up the branches extending over the neighbours garden.

Throwback to last year, removing a very crispy dead birch on Hitchin road, then off to reduce a willow & remove another very dead eucalyptus that unfortunately didn't survive the winter frosts.
Pleasure watching CTC scurry about in a tree that might not have taken my weight!

A lovely day spent subcontracting for ATLAS Garden Services with CTC , reducing this very pretty - and very spiky - false acacia.
The previous work done to the tree from years back was very harsh and had resulted in severe rot on the tops of the main stems, good thing we brought our brown trousers.
As a result we decided with the customer that the best option was to reduce the height and spread drastically in order to ensure that none of the branches would be under heavy enough load to potentially tear out.
We will be revisiting the tree in 6 months time to check that it has responded well to the surgery, fingers crossed!

53m of laurel hedges, DONE!

A massive thank you to CTC for bringing his beastly one sided hedge trimmers, they made short work of the massive chunks of hedge that we would have likely spent days doing using a chainsaw or hand saws.
Really makes you appreciate proper kit.

A follow up to our removal of the Letchworth sycamore stricken with SBD (sooty bark disease), this time removing the remaining stem wood, very humid work, but we managed to soldier through it.
Always a pleasure using the amazing Stihl 880, thanks to CTC for letting me use his kit and steal his glory.

Suited and booted by the roadside with CTC rocking his snazzy blue boiler suit.
An acer with sooty bark disease positioned next to a 4 way junction in Letchworth is an accident waiting to happen, but it had to be done very carefully!
I would love to have documented more of the removal, but roadside jobs are far too hectic to even think about it!
Really fun day, if you have any precarious trees that you want a second opinion on, please don't be shy!
