Our team has been making excellent progress at our Coleshill project, carefully laying this beautiful reclaimed York stone patio.

With its natural variation in colour, texture and character, reclaimed York stone creates a truly timeless finish that simply cannot be replicated with modern paving materials.

Each stone is individually selected and laid creating a traditional finish that complements the character of the property and its surroundings.

The incorporation of decorative edging and detailing adds another level of craftsmanship to what is already shaping up to be a stunning outdoor space.

There’s still work to be done, but we’re delighted with how this is coming together and look forward to sharing the finished result.

Another significant milestone reached on our ongoing fire restoration project in Old Town, Swindon.

Following the devastating fire that engulfed the property, the original side wall of the property was found to be structurally compromised, requiring its complete demolition and reconstruction.

Our team has been busy rebuilding the masonry, carefully restoring the structural integrity of the building and preparing it for the next major phase of works.

With the wall rebuild nearing completion, we’ll soon be in a position to install the new pitched roof structure and roof coverings, making the building watertight once again.

From there, attention will turn to the internal reinstatement works as we begin the process of putting the property back together.

Projects like these require careful planning, skilled workmanship and a coordinated approach to bring a severely damaged building back to life.

This project forms part of our ongoing work with an insurance claims management company, delivering comprehensive fire damage restoration and reinstatement services.

🔥 FIRE DAMAGE RESTORATION | OLD TOWN, SWINDON

Progress continues on our fire-damaged property restoration project in Old Town, Swindon.

Following extensive fire damage, our team has now completely stripped and removed the damaged roof structure, cleared the affected internal contents and carefully dismantled the damaged gable wall.

With rebuilding works now well underway, the next stage will see the installation of a completely new roof structure and covering, making the property watertight before we begin the internal reinstatement works.

This project forms part of our ongoing relationship with an insurance claims management company, delivering professional fire and property damage reinstatement services from initial strip-out through to full restoration.

Austen Dawson (Construction & Mechanical) Ltd is looking to expand our team due to a number of large upcoming projects across Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.

We’re looking for experienced tradespeople and reliable general operatives who take pride in their work and want to be part of a professional, established construction team.

We’re looking for people who:

• Work to the high standard expected across all Austen Dawson projects,
• Are reliable, hardworking and professional,
• Can work well as part of a team or on own initiative,
• Have a full UK driving licence,
• Have their own transport, or are 25+ if a company vehicle is required,
• Have relevant experience within the construction industry,
• Take pride in keeping sites clean, organised and professional.

We have a strong pipeline of work ahead, including extensions, renovations and high-quality residential projects in addition to our insurance claims work, and are looking for the right people to join us as we continue to grow.

The temporary roof scaffold is up at our Old Town, Swindon fire renovation project. We’re just waiting for it to be fully wrapped, and then we can start putting this one back together…

Following significant fire damage, this property is undergoing an extensive programme of reinstatement and renovation works, with Austen Dawson working on behalf of one of the leading claims management companies.

Once the scaffold is encapsulated and the building is protected from the elements, our team can begin the next phase, carefully stripping back the remaining damaged areas before starting the structural repairs, rebuilding and full reinstatement.

Projects like this require a very different approach to a normal renovation, with careful planning, coordination and attention to detail throughout.

Looking forward to seeing the transformation as this property starts to take shape again.

Works progressing well at our Coleshill project!

Great progress on site this week. The reclaimed brick retaining wall is really taking shape, it’s amazing how quickly reclaimed materials settle into their surroundings and look like they’ve always been there.

The new underground services are now mostly installed and we’re moving on to the next phase: natural stone retaining walls and steps that will define the levels across the side garden.

Still plenty to do, but it’s looking great, it’s projects like this that show why getting the external works right matters just as much as the build itself.

When the unexpected happens, speed matters.

Yesterday our team responded to an emergency make-safe following a house fire over the weekend. Working as part of our ongoing partnership with an insurance claims management partner, we were on site first thing Monday morning to secure the property and begin the first steps of the repair process.

Moments like this are a reminder of why we do what we do. Behind every job is a family dealing with one of the most stressful situations imaginable, and our role is to take some of that weight off their shoulders, act quickly and start the journey back to normal.

Our thoughts are with the homeowners, and we’re proud to be part of getting them back home as quickly as possible.

Quick site visit to our Coleshill project today and it was great to see the progress first-hand.

The new parking area is really starting to take shape, with the reclaimed brick retaining walls well underway and the new service trenches and installations progressing well.
