Welcome to Sidey Design Architecture, we are located in Higham Ferrers, a small market town in rural Northamptonshire, we provide Architectural services throughout Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and surrounding counties. We have a dedicated team of planning and technical staff who are CAD experts and can offer impartial advice on a huge range of Architectural developments. Sidey De

sign Architecture is headed by Jon Sidey who has spent three decades in the building design and planning industry. Jon has been involved in Architecture all of his working life starting with a day-release scheme in Building Studies at a local technical college including theory and practical modules. He also gained a Building Degree and has had a continuous working career in residential and commercial fields of architecture. He is also a full member of CIAT. His success is gained from hard work and dedication to clients and the quality designs produced by Sidey Design Architecture. Sidey Design Architecture has been in business since 1991 and during that time has built up an extensive network of clients and business associates. New replacement dwelling in East Cambridgeshire! 🏚➡🏠

The original property on the site was a modest bungalow that our client had been living in for many years before deciding that the site no longer provided the space or functionality that they required.

Working closely with our client, we designed a dwelling that drew inspiration from the larger neighbouring properties, ensuring that it sat comfortably within the established streetscape, while introducing its own distinctive character.

Construction is well underway on site at Rushden & Higham Rugby Club! 🏃🏉

The aim of this project was to provide the club with more social space in the main function room, along with an improved viewing deck looking out over the pitch 🏟

As you can see, the main body of the extension is almost complete, with the new openings ready to be fitted and the viewing area also taking shape 👷

We are excited to see the finished product and hope the extension gives the players & others using the space the extra room that they need!

Residential Development in Silverstone! 🏠🏠

This project was a small development of two identical six-bedroom houses near the centre of Silverstone.

Features include:

✏ Double garage with studio space above
✏ Open plan kitchen/dining
✏ Large bay window
✏ Private driveway
✏ Corner window design

On a more technical note, the site presented some interesting challenges. Due to the number of trees in the area & the poor soil conditions, careful consideration was needed regarding the foundation details. Pile foundations were chosen as the most suitable option due to their ability to pe*****te deep into the soil 📐

🚽 Higham Ferrers Public Toilets are now open! 🚻

Some of you may have noticed that the public toilets have had a bit of a facelift! 🌟

Working closely with Higham Ferrers Town Council, we helped transform the facilities with:

✅ A new central entrance
✅ Internal layout modifications for improved accessibility and usability
✅ Fresh new cladding installed on all sides
✅ A cleaner, more modern appearance for the town centre

It’s great to be part of projects that help improve local community spaces and create a better experience for everyone using them👏

There are still a few finishing touches to complete, but the official opening will be taking place very soon! 🎉

The shell of one of our new build sites in Northampton is almost complete! 🏠

Despite looking like a pair of semi-detached houses, the site is actually a single dwelling! This was an intentional design choice for planning purposes so that the property would fit nicely within the existing street scene, which is often a requirement for new builds in areas such as this! 📑✏️

After a few design iterations, the planners were happy with the design, allowing us to proceed to the working drawing stage, and is now taking shape on site!

This single storey rear extension in Higham Ferrers was completed a few years ago 🏠

🌟 Major renovations in North Bedfordshire! 🌟

This project was part of a large-scale re-modelling of a small bungalow, fit with extensions on almost every side and a complete internal strip out 🏠

Main additions include:

🔹Large open-air canopy
🔹Full render
🔹Large open plan kitchen-dining area
🔹Oak feature porch

During the process, we identified multiple historic Holm Oak trees with protection orders and potential habitats for great crested newts. To address this, we consulted ecology and arboricultural consultants for guidance in order for us to prepare detailed reports. No newts were found on the site, and the historic trees were accounted for.
