This week in this years (so far) build pictures -

The oak and cedar shingle garden cabin with adjoining bar in Winslow
The big thermowood fella in Chesham
The mancave build to fit the awkward corner of the garden in Bourne End
The office with attached storage in Thame
The latest office with thermowood cladding and a large covered deck in Stoke Mandeville

It seems to be the year of Thermowood…

Which one is your favourite?

These PF2 WTP screws are absolute beasts.
They pull like a clamp - even into end grain.

Definitely my go to construction screw.

It’s been a while since I introduced myself, and there’s been quite an influx of new followers recently, so…

Hello! I’m Lee

I build cabins, garden rooms and other spaces that make you wonder why you ever went back inside the house.

I’m the builder, designer, cedar shingle enthusiast and professional overthinker behind Rustic Realities — a proper one-man band.

I’m happiest with a stack of cedar shingles, some good music and a hammer in my hand.

There’ll be plenty of timber, sawdust, attention to detail and the occasional questionable decision along the way.

No fancy sales pitch. Just good spaces, built properly, by someone who genuinely enjoys making them.

Thanks for following along

This week in finished photos -

Thats a pretty nice deck you’ve got there
Lines and light
More light and a contrasting back cladding
Internals - clean and ready to use
I do like these lights against this cladding
In all her glory - what do you think of it?
