Not your average MVHR install… 🌬️

Another Ubbink Ubiflux MVHR system wrapped up by the Herts Renewables team, installed in the basement of this listed property which has been converted into offices.

The system serves 5 individual office spaces, continuously supplying fresh, filtered air while extracting stale air and recovering heat from the building that would otherwise be lost.

This one took some serious planning. With limited space and the need to keep boxing and visible ductwork to an absolute minimum, every route had to be carefully considered before installation.

Some of the existing walls were up to 600mm thick, requiring specialist core drilling to achieve the duct routes we needed. 💪🏼

The result — fresh air, excellent heat recovery and minimal visual impact, while making the most of the available space and respecting the fabric of the listed building.

Good MVHR isn’t just about the unit — the design and installation make all the difference. 💯

Big Saturday shift from the solar team getting this array fitted and ready for the scaffolding to come down. ☀️⚡️💯

The panels are mounted using a Van der Valk flat-roof mounting system, giving us a solid, low-profile installation that looks seriously tidy. 👌🏼

Panels are now on and ready for second fix, where we’ll be installing the Sigenergy battery & hybrid inverter to complete the solar and storage system.

And that’s only one part of the job — we’re delivering the complete renewable package:

🔥 HEATING. 💧 HOT WATER. ❄️ AIR CONDITIONING.
All from one system.

Another Vaillant aroTHERM plus 7kW Air Source Heat Pump wrapped up this week by the Herts Renewables retrofit team. ✅

This was a seriously involved installation, with the system designed to provide much more than just heating and hot water.

We’ve integrated Olimpia Splendid fan coil units throughout the property, allowing the Vaillant heat pump to produce chilled water during the summer months and provide proper air conditioning to the rooms. ❄️

The result?

🔥 Efficient heating through winter
💧 Hot water all year round
❄️ Cooling through summer
🏡 Just ONE external unit serving the property

No need for multiple A/C condensers dotted around the outside of the house. The same heat pump that keeps the property warm in winter can reverse operation and provide chilled water to the fan coils when temperatures rise.

A great example of what can be achieved when a heat pump system is designed as a complete heating and cooling solution, rather than simply being treated as a boiler replacement.

A challenging retrofit with plenty of thought going into the hydraulics, controls and integration — but a cracking result from the team. 👏

We removed the existing gas boiler and upgraded the property with:

☀️ 10 × AIKO 465W all-black panels – 4.65kWp
🔋 Sigenergy battery storage
⚡ Sigenergy hybrid inverter

The solar generates clean electricity throughout the day, the battery stores excess energy for when it’s needed, and the Vaillant heat pump takes care of the home’s heating and hot water.

Exactly the sort of complete renewable package we love delivering. And with a tight side access to work with, the lads have done a cracking job keeping the installation neat and tidy 👌

While this property is experiencing temperatures of over 40°C in direct sunlight, this Vaillant aroTHERM Plus air source heat pump is keeping the home comfortably cool using fan coil units operating in cooling mode.

📊 Today’s figures:
✅ 21°C indoor temperature
✅ 7.4 kWh used for cooling
✅ Cooling COP of 4.35

That means for every 1 kWh of electricity consumed, the system is delivering 4.35 kWh of cooling into the property.
