Ok, I know this is early. But I am selling at a Christmas Craft Fair on 23 Nov so I have been busy making Christmas things FOR WEEKS!!

Episode one... The Reindeer Chronicles.

These baskets are designed as either Christmas Eve gift boxes, filled with treats such as hot chocolate, stocking filler toys, sweets and fluffy socks. OR to be left out for Santa to help himself to a little snack, and a carrot for the reindeer.

Alternatively they could just be used as a more acceptable way to leave a bowl of Quality Street on the coffee table. In November.

Following my early 'achievements' in evening classes, I then got a bit carried away... I decided I NEEDED a sewing room....

My next project... October 2023. A needle case. This was another little project in some spare time at the end of one of my evening classes. I had no idea I needed one of these in my life, and now use it most days!

I also made one as a little gift for a friend's birthday using fabric for the appliqué star from some trousers I bought from her business. Outer: curtain remnant (same material as the bag I made). Lining: blouse from charity shop sale. Star: off cut of a pair of trousers. Ribbon: from 'the stash'

Next project was to make a bag. This was made from an old Roman blind which was all faded on one side but I found enough...

Next project was to make a bag. This was made from an old Roman blind which was all faded on one side but I found enough fabric to work with the pattern for the outside. It was my first attempt at a 'pie-crust' bottom to fit the oval shape.

This has become my 'go to' bag for transporting sewing projects around when travelling.

It was much admired and I even had a friend ask me to make her one. Mark II was fully interlined to make it more rigid, and with a magnetic closure rather than the loop. The fabric was another curtain remnant from a local shop, with a gorgeous dragonfly lining. Must get a photo...

Where it started...

September 2023. I decided to enrol on a beginners sewing course and remind myself how to use my mum's sewing machine which had sat unused for almost 20 years.

I made an appliqué cushion and was mightily pleased with myself. 🧵
